Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I would not recommend changing just the springs because most of them will not be compatable with the shocks.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you all for the advice. Now we are the proud owners of this gorgeous 2003 C4 with only 33K miles. Now the real fun begins.. too bad I am on business travel until next week. Max

POST 2Original post

Very nice!! Welcome to the team. Let the modding begin... start with replacing the pumpkins (Halloween is over), and get some clear side markers.

POST 3Original post

Gotta love the White over Metropol Blue. I've never seen so much wood in a 996 before. Go luck with it... Looks great!

POST 4Original post

Welcome!!! The wheel offsets are awesome!! It really stands proud! Beautiful colors and WOW that's a lot of wood! Hurry home, its waiting for you ! Ed

POST 7Original post

Nice car! Find Eric at Bumperplugs and take care of those holes!

POST 8Original post

Welcome and congratulations! Wow, with only 33K miles, that's quite a find. I like the painted bumpers on your car, but not quite sure it would look good on mine. I got mine about two months ago - just last night my wife asked me what happened to my original plan to drive it "occasionally" to work and on the weekends... It was a good plan, but tough to stick with... driving it brings a whole new joy to the commute and the hours I'm on the road (4:30 am and at 2:00 pm) the road is wide open to push it a little... Anyway, I'm thinking I'll go to the original plan when the newness wears off... but I don't see that happening any time soon. beautiful car... enjoy in good health, welcome to RL!

POST 12Original post

Welcome to rennlist. Nice combo white&metropol blue I don't like wood interior but It's only my taste. Seems to have very high suspension (US stock?)

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its been suggested by a friend and GT2 driver that I should get H&R or Eibach lowering springs installed. Presume they will work fine with stock socks. Now I will be perusing all of the info on suspension on this baby w/o going broke yet. I don't want to go extreme on it as I want wife to slowly adapt to subtle changes Wood.. well not thrilled about it, but when I saw my wife's face light up and immediately told me to BUY IT... I just had to.. Wife Happy, Me Happy

POST 14Original post

Max Welcome and congrats! Nice looking P-car. GREAT color combo. The wheels look like BSA wheels. About the springs..... I would not recommend changing just the springs because most of them will not be compatable with the shocks. This will cause the car to bounce and hit the bump stops too often and will shorten the life of the shocks. Full Porsche ROW M030 suspension is about $1,100. It will lower the car avout 25mm. The labor would be about the same if you replaced just the springs or the entire suspension.

POST 15Original post

Consensus is not to the install lowering springs with stock socks.....

+1 on the M030. I had this installed in my 03 C4 cab. and it made a significant difference in handling. $1086 delivered from Sunset Porsche, about $650 for install and alignment.
