Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Those shifty Mod Knomes left me another project for tomorrow! Good thing they are so small, they make for a short throw when you catch them. Better than midget tossing! Got the B&M in yesterday afternoon! It only takes an hour or so, but, What a Difference it Makes! Between the shifter and the PSE, the car is transformed! This is how all Porsches should leave the factory!

POST 2Original post

linky no worky But, form the sounds of it you are putting in a SSK?

POST 3Original post

I just had mt B&M SSK installed yesterday. Absolutely great! I actually can't understand why this is not standard from Porsche. I had no "notchy" experience. Works perfect! Now for new exhaust....

POST 4Original post

Gary, you went from turning your car in to Modding madness!!!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If I was to recommend one inexpensive mod, it would be the B&M SSK. I am a believer now!

POST 6Original post

Come on - pretty easy answer to that one. make it stock and you can't charge extra! The fries don't come with the burger, they are an option! BTW - no offence intended.

POST 7Original post

I hope to add this mod in the near future. A couple of questions: What are your thoughts re: messing with the warranty? Did you install the aluminum linkage? Thanks for the input.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Warranty is not an issue, especially since Porsche OEM's this part for their short shifter. No, the linkage is the stock linkage.

POST 9Original post

That shift lever is bent. Take it out and get yourself a real B&M.

POST 11Original post

Can I keep original carbon fiber shift **** if I install B&M SSK ?

POST 13Original post

At the same time as the B&M is put in you should upgrade to the lemon fiber shift ****. If you are in the SF Bay Area I have a bunch of them on my tree.

POST 14Original post

stupid question.... when you get a short b&m shifter, does the console stay open like that or can you attach the original or aftermarket piece for that? The open space looks a little... unclean.

POST 15Original post

Yes, you have to leave it open. Just kidding, of course you close it back.

POST 16Original post

Alright, now that this thread has started its descent, I must confess that evertime I see the title I misread it as "What a difference a BM makes!"
