Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Look at my average MPG: 34.1 miles per gallon!!! And that's driving at an average of 68MPH. What a difference a Supercharger makes

POST 2Original post

Calculate it manually at the next fill up. The electronic gauges are notorious for being wrong. You should get about 27 - 29 on the highway at those speeds. I can get 26 mpg on my SUV during the first 12 mile section of road I drive around here but it's bull****. Gauges are seldom accurate even for the guys in this forum who say they get like 9 mpg when driving their cars hard. It is ompossible to get that low of mileage no matter what kind of drivng you are doing in a properly running 996 unless you are sitting idle mos of the time. The only accurate way to measure is to calculate at every fill up based on miles and gas added.

POST 4Original post

If I put my Porsche on cruise control I get seriously fantastic gas mileage. I should do that more often

POST 5Original post

I have average 25.4 mpg on a 100 mile jaunt to play golf. The majority of the time on the frwy at speeds from 60-110. I calculated it the long way; filled up to the top of the neck. My daily driver is a Ford Superduty Crew Cab Diesel 6" lift and 36" tires, I installed the Edge Performance Tuner( uploaded 80 hp mode) and have gone from 16.8 mpg to 23.2mpg. I must say I am having a hard time not lighting the tires up out of the traffic lights and racing Mustangs and Cameros. The programmer was $400. not hard to recoup my cost in fuel savings. Now a supercharged 911 at $13K would take me a little longer but sure would be funnnnnn........

POST 7Original post

I can't seem to squeeze another drop in my tank after I let the pump do the work automatically. Every time I try another squeeze, it winds up on the floor.....unlike my other vehicles.

POST 9Original post

This is very true, you can't "top off" Porsche's, my 2001 was like that too.

POST 10Original post

I average about 42 mpg on the highway, it's great!! At the track yesterday, I got 26.9 mpg!!

POST 11Original post

I should have gotten the S/C first and with all the money I saved on gas I could have afforded all the mods Robyn has on her car. I shoulda' known you were smart like that. Now to convince the wife I have gotten the cart before the horse; but only temporarily. I'm smart like that.

POST 12Original post

I'll bet that Robyn's busy buying shoes with all those savings

POST 13Original post

She's either buying shoes or paper towels; have you seen her new license plates?

POST 15Original post

I am always amazed at the difference between the mpg I get on the way to the track -- 28-30 mpg -- and the mpg I get on the track -- 8 mpg. Amazingly, the averages are very consistent. I have never seen a vehicle with that much of a swing in mpg. Could that just be varioram working as designed? TD in DC

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Try doing 68 AVERAGE on Los Angeles freeways in the morning rush hour

POST 18Original post

No, I'm actually saving for GT3 seats, smarty pants!
