Suggestion
I've rarely run into suspension issues on all my former cars and all had some sort of aftermarket adjustable coils on them.

The rears have a 58 offset in the rear AND I'm also using a 7mm spacer on top of that.

I couldn't hold out any longer. After I hit 50,000 miles, I did some upgrades, but didn't want to post pics until everything was done. All that's left is the Ruf front bumper, but here are a few teaser pics of the stuff that was done:
ROW suspension
5 Spoke Rims and Tires
7mm spacers(hubcentric fronts)
Fabspeed muffler bypass
Ruf Wing
Ruf Side Skirts
[Ruf front bumper being installed on Wed]
Third Radiator
Aluminum Guage Rings
Homelink Hack (in the works)
EDIT - All PICS INSERTED IN THIS POST

Looks very good man! I actually like the wing even better than the factory aero wing.
I would move or even remove the Carrera batch, seems too close to the wing for me. Do you run wheel spacers in the rear or are these aftermarket wheels? I thought the all 18' OEM wheels have the same offset but your rear wheels look to end just perfect with the fender outside; my 18' turbo twist wheels are deeper in the fender.
Thanks for the compliments all!
These are aftermarket rims from Wheel Dynamics - great guys and very knowledgeable. The rears have a 58 offset in the rear AND I'm also using a 7mm spacer on top of that. I think it gives the car a nicer stance from behind. Also, the 58 offset rims allow a 285/30 tire. The only downside is that the front rims are 57mm offset, and I really need 7mm spacers to be close to factory specs. But I had to take off my non-hubcentric 7mm spacers due to wheel wobble. I'm going to put on some 14mm when I get around to it.
[The wing has some sweet air intakes that I haven't posted pics of yet. When the front bumper is done, I'll post a full set of pics.]

looks great, cant wait to see it with the front bumper.
I was going to go with that kit, but last minute found a great deal on a MK1.
Is that wing adjustable?
Well, I decided to get a 3rd radiator while the car was in getting its new Ruf front bumper. Car should be done this week - pics to come. And a review of the new radiator...
-td
TD - the third radiator is probably not a bad idea dor the hot Texas summers.
BTW - I lived in San Antonio for 30 years prior to moving to New Jersey for two years. We have been in NC for six years. Not sure, but it looks like your neighborhood might have been built by David Weekly Homes.
Here's my $.50 take on things:
-I love the Ruf aerokit for the '99-'01s and the front bumper is very clean so looking forward to you getting that on
-I don't like the wheel as it doesn't do justice to the very expensive aero bits you just put on, are going to be completing with the front bumper. You buy the best aero parts, but then you cheap out and get some free beef wheels. Doesn't match up.
-You need to lower it more, there's still way too much gappage
A buddy of mine here in Seattle used to have a black one with the full Ruf kit slammed on H&Rs. Looked insanely sweet even with the OEM 2-piece mesh BBS wheels.
Good job on at least not looking bone stock (lame)
EDIT - Response to Benjamin Choi that I would delete, except I feel it adds value to this thread.
I love these rims. I've always wanted them
I don't think they detract from the aero at all. With nice red calipers, I think everything matches up quite nicely. It's looking just like I envisioned it - only better!
I may lower it more later, but I like it where it is now. Plus the RoW suspension is OEM and does not void my aftermarket warranty. As for the gap, whaddya gonna do. But if you like it lower, feel free to send me some coilovers
It's easy to throw tens of thousands of dollars at these cars. At some point you have to say, that's how I want it.
-td
And it's cool that you're happy and I'm sure if your budget was a few thousand dollars bigger, you could do it all in a seriously hot way.
Those wheels have absolutely zero motorsport backing on a car so rich with it. And I'm sure, again, if you had a couple more grand, you'd get some seriously sweet wheels. For example, Ruf wheels to complete the look. Ruf lowers their ride a lot more than yours. But I do understand you're looking at like a $2K price tag to get the original Ruf front bumper. Pricey goods.
I have an aftermarket warranty as well and running PSS9s. I've rarely run into suspension issues on all my former cars and all had some sort of aftermarket adjustable coils on them. It's the engine and tranny and some of the electrics where I want peace of mind. RoW just doesn't get it done. Go big (low) or go home.
Enjoy, man.
I agree dont put a ruf badge... the kit doesnt make it a ruf. Just wish they would come down on there prices of there parts, I think all RUF including 19" RUF rims would do the trick for me. Looks great though, it looks simple, elegant and if it needs to be very fast.
Wow, there are some seriously critical opinions here... I happen to like the car and the overall design. I myself was going to go Ruf on the body kit for my car but ended up with the Caractere front with TechArt style sides and turbo look rear with GT2 wing/GT3 base engine lid. I am happy with the way it turned out even if others might question the choices.
Don't fall for the peer pressure stuff, you did the car your way and that is all that matters! Enjoy it.
As for the badge, I do understand it not being a full Ruf but if your using pretty much a full Ruf body kit I am not soo sure it is out of place. Just my opinion...
David
I agree. FWIW, I don't believe that having a Ruf VIN is the requirement for a Ruf badge. Nor do I think that a full Ruf upgrade for every component is required.
I asked Ruf if I could have one, and they said yes. If they thought it was a misrepresentation....
And I think of it as positive advertising for them anyway. Heck, I should ask for an advertising fee. Lastly, all recent Rufs have the actual model number on it (RT12, CTR etc) - so a generic Ruf badge should easily imply generic car
-td
At ease, man.
If money wasn't an object, unlike yourself, I'd be in a **** Pagani Zonda F cruising the northeastern coast of italy . since money is no object for you and you drive a 7 year old Porsche that might be worth $33K on a good day, heck, i'd like to have someone check how you're interpreting the saying.
But the one thing that amazes me is that you actually went out of your way, pulled out your wallet and gave $ in exchange for wheels that require spacers... to get them to stock specs even... on the front AND rear? LOL I rest my case.
Good luck, bud.
Ben, I'm not sure why you are so negative or confrontational, but I'm going to plonk all your posts now since I feel you are simply being beligerent. In fact, you are just trolling for responses. When you have something that adds to the discussion, instead of degrading what others have done, please let someone know that I should unblock you.
Lastly, I don't have to explain or justify anything to the likes of you.
I should have "ignored" you long ago.
-td
Yes - go to user CP, at the bottom left is a tab for buddy/ignore. Just type in the user [benjamin choi] that you want to ignore [benjamin choi], then hit submit your request to ignore a user [benjamin choi].
-td
BTW, I see Ben posted something, but he's on my ignore list so nothing shows up! For joy!
But, if it's worth a comment by me, can someone PM me. Otherwise, I'll assume it's another attempt to make himself feel better by posting something negative.
-td
Ben, sorry to butt in on this but I am not sure your coming across the way you want... I re-read his post and your reply and I do not get why you had soo much attitude in the post you made...
"It has nothing to do with budget. In fact, I have the money to buy exactly what I want. And I did. I wanted those rims. Not sure why that is hard to understand. I think the car looks exactly like I want it to. Money was not the object. I'm not sure why you keep implying that."
None of that is saying he has unlimited funds or that he is rich... just that he had enough money to buy the exact mods he wanted. Sounds good to me... I did the same thing. As for the rims, yeah a proper offset would be nice but not always possible on each rim design... there is a reason spacer kits for Porsches are soo popular and companies like H&R make them. It's his car, he should be able to mod it his way.
Like my mom always said... "If you do not have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all"
David
Looked fine before, but a very big improvement! Nice choices. I have the same color interior in mine, I'd like to get the carbon-fiber kit. I think it looks great with the grey. Enjoy!
Very nice !!
You did a very good jod in upgrading the front bumper.
The design is cool, a bit agressive and elegant and discreet too.
I love these 997 Carrera rims.
996 are made for 18" wheels and go better with 18".
19" are purely aesthetical question but are not an upgrade in the handling, cornering balance and are nor the best choice to go fast
One more thing:
Don't you think that It would be better to place the rear Carrera badge down instead of the top?
It's too close to the rear wing.
(EDITED: sorry . I didn't read the 3rd page where redridge told about the badge)
Is it the OEM RoW stock suspension?
Enjoy it
