Man, prices are dropping like crazy, a clean low mileage '02's are going for $32K or less, so my '00 cab is not worth much in this market.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been away from the Porsche market for a few years and have just recently though about jumping back in. I am thinking of looking at the following car and wondering what your thoughts would be on a good price considering the market? The car is not close although my son lives nearby and could check it out for me before I get a PPI.
2002 C2 cab 18k mi, 6 speed, 1 owner, Lapis blue
Beige supple leather seats, 18" light alloy wheels, PSM, heated seats, Advanced Technic Pkg., hard top, and a few other smaller options.
15k service completed, described as 99% perfect, 1 small dent on hood near window "that is not very noticeable", interior and top have normal wear for a six year old car, no engine leaks, everything working.
Edmunds prices it out at around $37.3k for a private party transaction.
Thanks.
Offer $35k and see what they say. Few people are in the Cab market as we go into the winter months. I bet they'll take it and that will be a LOT of car for the money. This is all pending a clean PPI of course...
For what it's worth - I bought my 04' 996 C2 with 40K miles on it 2 months ago for $34K near mint condition. Mine is loaded with the RUF suspension, RUF floor mats, short shifter, white dials, RUF pedals, Bose, etc...
You should be able to get yours in the high 20's to low 30's - I'm with Dell on this one.
Two weeks ago you were arguing that a 2000 Cab (pre facelift) with >70k miles wouldn't sell for under $30k. I guess you've seen the light!
These cars are a great buy right now.
Not sure if you are willing to buy in Hawaii, but there is a 02 cab that has been on the market for quite a while. I have seen the car in person and it is beautiful, but the color combo may greatly reduce the resale market. The car is speed yellow with red interior. It does have the factory sport seats that makes it really nice! I believe the car is down to $32k.

02's are going around for between $25k-34k. That is what I have found when shopping. Finally settled on an 03 C4 cab with 36K miles for $38K with impeccable maint records. If you have the money, dealers are trying to get rid of inventory
That Speed-Yellow 996 Cab in Hawaii is really nice, flashy with red interior but quite unique, I like it... Man, prices are dropping like crazy, a clean low mileage '02's are going for $32K or less, so my '00 cab is not worth much in this market. Oh well, looks like I will be keeping it for as long as I can...kinda depend if I will still have a job to keep it.
Wow, Hawaii car odd looking but I would bet anything that 5 years of salt water vapor is hard on ferrous materials. That and 40k miles on a postage stamp of an ilsand means a lot of short trips... car never warms up... insides of the motor get rusty too....
I bet there is rust in many places that can be seen, or not.... i would say NO way to that car.... RUN FOREST!! RUN
Still with prices dropping, In my area I still see people asking high 20's to low 30's for C2 MK1's... I cant imagine they are selling... There are many good deals right now and I am glad I have mine or I would be confused by them all. I am glad I got mine when I did, but for the same money now you can get more.
Wow, as an owner of an '02 cab with higher mileage, this thread does not thrill me at all. I guess I'll be keeping this car for a long, long time. Which isn't a bad thing, really.
Local stealer has an '02 cab with around 24K miles for upper thirties, and you know they'll come off of that in this economy, this time of year.
I wouldn't worry too much about that low, low mileage as long as the maintenance has been kept up properly. 3K miles a year for a toy is about what I do (although I drove mine a lot last year due to selling/totalling my daily drivers).

Oh Phil, now you in big trouble! If you are going to take the risk of rolling the odometer, you are supposed to roll it back, not FORWARD!
Phil, I have more miles than that on my POS Honda which, by the way, I have been tormented with for 5 months now!
