Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

That is (subtract a month to prep it for winter, 4 months for winter, a month to get ready to drive in the spring, another month worth of threads asking how to repair the suicide attempts...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No multiple coats of Zaino, just Meguiar's clay bar and Meguiar's NXT Tech 2.0 wax applied with a Porter-Cable 7424. These pics were taken at my friend's house, who will hopefully come to the darkside soon:
My friend was working on his Honda Hurricane when I took this shot off his mirror:

You can't see the pics because my web server is getting overloaded. I'm gonna have to find another place to host my pics or keep resetting my web server.
The color is Atlas Grey Metallic. Not my first color choice, but I've found it to be a very interesting color. It's grown on me since then.

Thanks guys. As ya'll probably noticed from my join date, I've been a closet Porsche fan for a while.
uberskier, Speed Yellow (or white) were my first choices. I had originally gone to the dealer to inquire about negotiating and acquiring a Speed Yellow or red C4S that were out-of-state, but he convinced me on the Atlas Grey. But I'm happy, I got to propose to my g/f ahead of schedule (and she's happy about that too).
I think my first mod will either be a Porsche Sports Exhaust or Fabspeed exhaust. I heard my friend's Turbo w/ the Fabspeed last Friday night and it's loud. I love it. But I'm also a big proponent of OEM pieces as well. Oh well, I have until after the wedding to decide anyway.

Yep, it's Atlas. Unfortunately, the blue in it didn't come out well in the pics.
Just 3 more days until the weekend then I can drive it!
Thanks for the kind words, guys!

We got 2" of snow here in the northern Philly suburbs today - which is why the Phillies didn't play tonight. But, promising sunny and 65 this weekend so I will be taking the car out for a spin before winter storage in 1-2 weeks.
You know you don't have the heart to leave me stranded. I can always count on you for a jump, ride to Holberts for another $200 rip-off OEM battery, and lunch! It may become an annual ritual for us!!
In the summer, I get to see my car sitting in MY garage waiting for me to drive it. In the winter, it's sitting in a rented garage, lonely, covered, and waiting for me to drive it.
Hey, I got 3100 miles on that baby - now that's what I consider a daily driver.
Hey, all in good fun, but seriously..... 3100? (this year?) not bad.... (total?) YIKES!
if that is the total.... we just need to get you more involved. We can meet somewhere for weekend trips... say California to New York
NO, not this year, or any year. Unfortunately the 3,100 miles are TOTAL miles!!! NOW you see why I give him such a hard time about not driving it????
Phil officially "introduced" his car to Rennlist EXACTLY two years ago today. In that thread he stated that he had owned it for 6 months and when he originally bought the car, it had 1,000 miles on it.
Let's see..... 3,100 minus 1,100.... divided by..... carry the one...... Phil drives his C4S an average of 800 (yes, I said
eight hundred
) miles a year! <sigh>
yes and he promised that he would drive the car MORE this year than previously... I think that was in his dreams because he appears (IMHO) to have driven it LESS this year.
Yoiu may be right!
Wait a minute, let me check............ I'll be right back!
OK, I'm back.
Nah, I think he did drive more this year than last year. I can't find the exact mileage he had on his car when his battery sulfated in December of 2007. I think it was about 1,900, so that means he drove 1,200 miles this year??? Is that possible???
Thanks Tim.
Little did I know when I was befriended by Phil that I'd end up being dragged through the emotional roller coaster of watching his beautiful car slowly rot away in front of my eyes.... last year his car tried to commit suicide by sulfating it's own battery. Who knows what desperate plea for help that it will use this year - let's just hope that it doesn't hurt itself, or anyone around it.
what was this thread about anyhow?
Oh yea, back on topic....1200 or 800 miles in a year. That is (subtract a month to prep it for winter, 4 months for winter, a month to get ready to drive in the spring, another month worth of threads asking how to repair the suicide attempts... that leaves <fingers counting> 5 months of actual use.. devided by 1000 (rounded) miles is 200 miles /mo.)
He lives in a small area right, somewhere I read he lives near all the things he needs, so no long trips anywhere except by choice... I would say that 40 miles a week putting around means he gets it out 3 to 4 days a week for his ussual runs... well, thats all he needs to do, good for him. Maybe thats all he expected it to be and more
On the other hand, it is sad that the car isnt driven on long trips more often. I took a couple this summer of 300+ miles in one long day of driving... Its nice to get home and get roll out of it, the whole trip is fun, but it wears on you too. There is a certain satisfation is just driving and enjoying the car out on the road. There is good reason to clean it up afterwards and there is the hopes of another trip somewhere soon to do it again.
I DD my car (when the weather holds off) and when I get home from my 50+ mile round trip/day I get out and look back at the car with loving eyes. Its awesome just to be living this dream. Phil, I hope you are living yours too.....
Man I must be drunk....
Close, it's a 1988 Honda Hurricane. My friend was installing new progressive rate springs on it. He also sports a Suzuki Matt Mladin GSX-R.
All this talk about low mileage makes me want to store mine until Phil catches up w/ me.
Two more days until the weekend and my Deltran battery tender comes in tomorrow, w00t!

No, it was >1900. I'm doing a solid 600 or so per year. Maybe the Audi TT is just too much fun (with the top down anyway). But everytime I drive the Porsche, I'm reminded of just how good the car really is. But, being older, I forget how much fun it is shortly after I drive it, and it sits again. Not
rots
mind you, just sits. It's still fresh as day 1.
I'd do the MSR 1.7, but no MSR 3.1 or ECR in the P-car for me. I like runoff and grass, which I think the MSR 1.3 and ECR is a little lacking.
