Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Porsche Motorsport North America + Penske Motorsports = Le Mans Prototype 2
A new LMP2 program was officially announced at Road Atlanta just minutes ago. Set to debut at this year's Petit Le Mans will be a new Porsche prototype, run by Penske Motorsport. The final two races of this season (Petit and Laguna Seca) will serve as tests for the new prototype before the team embarks on a full 2006 campaign.
PMNA and PCNA commissioned Porsche AG to design and build the car. Peter Schwarzenbauer (PCNA President and CEO), "Our American racing customers have made it clear to us that they would like to move up several levels in ALMS competitions, as would we. We believe this new Porsche prototype program will provide the perfect means to do so and will generate added enthusiasm for sports car racing in America, especially with Penske Motorsports as our partner and initial entrant."
"Prototype" in the racing world is not quite the same as in the car design/production world.
In the racing sense, prototypes are specially-constructed racing vehicles, that rarely share much with any street model that the manufacturer produces. In the car design/production world, prototypes are simply pre-production versions of cars that are (or may be) produced in the future.
Here's an example of one of Porsche's previous racing protoypes. It was never intended by Porsche for street production/use (Porsche 962):
This is what a current ALMS LMP (Le Mans Prototype) 2 car looks like. This is the initial class Porsche will race the car in. The Porsche will look similar:
anyone notice this?
"The history-making unveiling of the new prototype sports car racing program intended for customer race teams "
which means they will be selling the LMP2's to customer teams and will probably not have a soley based "Factory" team this year - just like the Cup/RS/RSR programs
The article you llinked on the ALMS site, indicates that Penske will be the "exclusive" racer of the new LMP2 Porsche in 2006. Essentially a factory team for at least 2006.
"Penske Motorsports, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Penske Racing, Inc., will field the new Porsche prototype in its first full season of competition exclusively in 2006."
true - but after 2006, i would expect there to be at least LMP2 advailable to other teams - IF they move on to LMP1.
for now we have Porsche-Penske
speculation on my part right now - of course.
