Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run hotter intake temps' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run hotter intake temps' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm doing a GT2 bumper install to match the Misha GT2 wing on my C4S and am considering stainless steel mesh inserts instead of the expanded metal black mesh that comes with the bumper. Has anyone done this or have pictures? I have done a search and found very little. Any tips on the install? Thanks , Will
So your looking to decrease much of the HP provided by your aftercooled supercharger? The grills will reduce the airflow throught the radiators by 60% or more. If you don't care about running hotter intake temps, then go for looks instead of perfromance.
wyo996,
I have the mesh on my 2000 GT3 and I live in the United Arab Emirates where temps reach 120 Farenheit in the summer and the engine temp has not increased since the mesh install.
1999Porsche911, what do you mean "intake temps" aren't we talking radiator flow and engine temps?
Ciao,
Johannes E.
I've been thinking about these and Cargraphics has them (and Performance Products also sells the Cargraphics product). There's another recent thread about this and some debate about whether this affects cooling or not.
wyo996 has a 3rd raditator for the SC intercooler which does not have a fan. The reason your engine temp stays around normal is because the fans on the 2 engine radiators are pulling air from the grills and under the bumper. They are working harder than normal but maintaining correct temperature.
The intercooler radiator reliies on the free movement of air through the center bumper vent. With this restricted, the coolant will become hotter, greatly increasing the temp of the intake air. This increase will probably not put the engine in any danger, but it will reduce the power available considerably. I have done many tests without the intercooler pump running and have seen jumps in intake temps of as much as 80 degrees. His won't jump that much because the coolant is cirrculating, but will increase somewhat over normal.
Mr c4, where did you get those mesh? I have the GT3 spoiler without the mesh at the moment and dirt/leaves seems to get all stuck in front of the radiator. I have to clean it out once in a while.
