Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

After 500 miles the oil was changed and everything checked.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, unfortunately I'm putting my 1999 glacier white 996 up for sale. I will be moving soon and it doesn't get driven that often with 2 kids. 5 months ago a new factory motor from Sunset Imports was put in after the car had the bad coolant/oil cocktail. While the engine was out the radiators (all 3) were cleaned, the air conditioning serviced (with new reciever/dryer), new battery, and 1,000 miles ago new rear tires. At the 90K service the transmission (tiptronic) was checked and new rotors and pads. With the new motor comes new alternator, starter, power steering pump, water pump, spark plugs, and headers. After 500 miles the oil was changed and everything checked. The chassis has 94,400 miles on it now after 2,000 have been put on the new motor. The car runs perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.
It has Kinesis K-19 wheels (19x8.5 &11) that look really sharp. There is a small ding on the rear passenger wheel well and the rear bumper has been resprayed. The interior is leather and still in very good shape. The tiptronic controls on the steering wheel work but the leather on the steering wheel is starting to show it's age a little.
The warranty from Sunset Imports for the motor will stay with the car and be fully transferable (still have 19 months left on it). $27,000

I've got a stupid question... in the 3rd pic down I see the owner's manual under the steering wheel area. Is there some type of shelf/glove box there? I don't think I've ever seen that before......
You are correct, that is a stoopid question!
Actually it is not a stupid question. Yes, '99 - '01 model years (a.k.a. pre-facelift) have that shelf, because they don't have a glove box. Go figure!
True, mine is also a super tight fit because I had other stuff in there as well like maintenance booklet and other papers. Wish our cars had a glove box instead...
I had a 99 C2, and were I in the market, yours with a rebuilt motor would be a great choice....The color and the rebuilt motor being a major marketing advantage; mostly because of the reputation evolving around the somewhat common failures that seem to have been remedied with the motor replacements. Good luck on the sale. Really nice looking car.
