Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

replacement? I'm thinking about either MB Quart or Infinity. I think the stock is a five and a half inch. Will a six and a half inch fit?
Thanks!

BTW the search function is useless (or I'm not using it correctly). I tried searching for "replacement speakers" "rear speakers" "speaker upgrade" "speaker mod" "speaker modification" etc and got nothing.
I don't like the search function here. Is there a way to use multiple word searches effectively? Back on topic now
I'll let the car audio people answer your question since that's not my gig. I only know you can do much better than stock or Bose.
You probably got too specific with your search criteria. If you had searched on "speakers" and searched in the Thread Titles Only, you would have found 34 threads with "sprakers" in the title. I know that for a fact because I just did that search. If you had done the same search but on All Posts, you probably would have gotten a Ga-zillion hits.
Hope this helps in the future.
The search function sucks. If you want to see one that works visit

and take a look at that it works.
On topic, man do people get waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay waaayyyy way OT here. Anyway, I'm going with Focal Polyglass 5 1/2" speakers for the rear seat area and 4" Focals for the dash. I'm still considering what to install in the doors but more than likely they will be 6 1/2 sep Focals. At that point i'm thinking the factory amp will have to be upgraded.
I'll take pictures and post the install here when completed.
I did Focals and an Audison amp in my car here's some links to the install:

I put in Boston RC 420's in the rear. Not bad considering I only paid $88 for them. Here is the whole thread.

At least this particular one. I had a set of links I searched for, but since he bashed the one and only gota911, somehow I accidentally lost the info.
Seems like a 6speed user waiting to happen...

The nice thing about Focals is that the frame of the speaker is plastic which makes dremel surgery (and there is a ton of modification). I'll post the complete install later as I plan on completely revising the procedure. You can see how much larger the Focal is versus stock. Mounting depth is not a problem.
