This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I saw this in the Tequipment section of Porsche.com: http://www2.us.porsche.com/isapi/eng...+Communication Can anyone comment on effectiveness or price?

POST 2Original post

I was considering a combination of a ProClip Mount ( http://www.proclipusa.com/home/home.aspx ) with a Bluetooth phone. The ProClip Vehicle Mount/Device Holder system seems more flexible and is most probably cheaper as well.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, but the Tequipment one integrates with PCM and allows for hands free w/o bluetooth (I think). I have a Treo 600 and I think that is what they are showing in the picture.

POST 4Original post

I'd opt for a bluetooth adapter, one that works with the MOST bus system. The cell solution has a special adapter that isn't cheap and fits only one phone model so if you get a new phone, you need to buy another adapter for several hundred dollars. Does anyone know of a bluetooth adapter that will work with the Verizon Motorola cell phone with bluetooth capability in a MY2003 Porsche as the technical support people at Verizon told me the Sony one doesn't work?

POST 5Original post

Bluetooth headset. IMO car kits are an anachronism. You almost never charge the phone these days, and BT headsets are available that work for 2 full days w/o a charge, and some that use an AAA battery with 15 hours talk time. I have a voice tag for my most frequently dialed numbers, and just tap the headset and say the name of the person I want to call. Most of the time I don't even know which pocket my cell phone is it. If you have GSM (or switch to it at some point) you'll get horrific buzzing through the car kit. Background noise is way lower with a headset too.

POST 6Original post

I decided not to mess with PCM integration but I did want a decent phone holder. I just put this on, from Kuda (this is the 997 version), and I think its very clean. The only thing I don't like is that the phone sits a little to close to the shift and when shifting into 5th I'll slightly bump the cradle with my knuckles. Just a phone holder, but it serves the purpose well. (No holes to drill, no double sided tape - mounts with bendable clips so there is no permanent damage or marks.) See https://order.kuda-phonebase.com/home.htm (No affiliation); they sell them on ebay too.

bluetooth all the way. especially when you drive a manual, and its so much nicer than dealing with a speakerphone setup.
