Since I bought this car only about 3 weeks ago, the dealer is going to test and replace the switch for me at no cost this Thursday morning.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I am having trouble with the headlights coming on when I turn the switch. I have a 2004 C4S cab with the HID/xenon factory lights.
When I turn the dial, many times they don't turn on right away. Sometimes I just pull the **** out to turn on the fog lights and push it back in and they come on, but this last Saturday night took almost 5 minutes for them to respond. Once they are on it is no problem.
Has anyone ever experienced this or know what the cause might be?

this happens to BOTH lights at the same time right? Then switch is suspect, if only one light, them balast would be a good place to look. Search thisw thread there are several posts on changing the light switch out.
GL and let us know the outcome
Yes, both headlights...but just the headlights. Everything else in the car electrically works fine.
Thanks for the advise. I will track down a replacement and let you know if that was the cure.....
