Wayne, you know that I have zero intention of switching out my wheels and tires until I run through the tread on the PS2's - which given my mileage should be in 2015.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need the size of the lugs that came on the stock 18" turbo twists on my 4S. Are they 17mm or 19mm? Also, what is the torque I should use for tightening up the lugs? Damn, I really am getting senile - I just realized I posted the first part of this question a couple of days ago. Sounds like 19mm it is - and the torque to tighten? Probably asked that, too.

POST 3Original post

If you release the parking brake and put the car on level gound in nuetral, tighten the bolts till the car rolls.... its not anywhere near the right torque spec, but I thought your car might like to go for a ride.....

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ouch. Bought a torque wrench so I wouldn't actually have to drive the car.

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 5921422

I need a new one, turns out mine broke... I have had it for years and dont even know where I got it, time to buck up to the bar and drop some coin... ALL iin fun at the pokes... I am sure you know, but thought it wouldn't hurt to say it

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5921595

I'm very used to it - just look at the hundreds of posts Wayne and Tim (Wellard and Gota911) have leveled at me. But, I can dish it out as good as I can take it. I bought a torque wrench from Tire Rack - it seems to be a substantial tool, and was pretty inexpensive. Around $35. http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...um=TW605&ID=75

POST 7Original post

Okay, obvious question Phil. Why do you need to remove your wheels and re-torque them? Did the tires rot off of your car?

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 5922521

Maybe to prevent flat spotting by removing the wheel and turning it before putting it back on, that way you would not actually have to move the car

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5922521

It's for the Audi! Wayne, you know that I have zero intention of switching out my wheels and tires until I run through the tread on the PS2's - which given my mileage should be in 2015.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5922546

Marc, you've given me an idea....

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 5922521

Wayne, I swear I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I read Phil's post.! Phil, as the "other Tim" (Gaspasser19) stated, 95 lb. ft for the torque. Remember, if you torque them too tight, the "little green 3/4 circle light" on the dash will illuminate! I knew I would be able to work that one in there, some how!

POST 12Original post

Quotes source posts: 5922546, 5922836

Jeez Marc, Phil needs absolutely no help in finding new ways NOT to drive his Porsche!

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5922856

I will absolutely NEVER live that one down.

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 5922856

I know, I can see you reminding Phil of that until the day his C4S dies.

POST 15Original post

you guys are to much... we all know that Phil does not want to change the original factory torque on the lugs... it will no longer be stock if he re-torques them.

POST 16Original post

I didn't think of that! Poor Phil is going to have after-market torque settings... oh the shame!

POST 17Original post

Is there a devaluation thread on that somewhere, I may be WAY down on value since I did that like 10 times this year.... do those show up on CarFax reports?

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 5923227

Maybe Phil can import a Posrche Torque tech from Germany... we can get a group buy and have him/her re-torque all our lugs and bring the value of our cars back up.... whos in for a group buy? Carfax will def pick it up... this is a major stuff here!

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5923482

The idea of a 5' 7" German blond retorquing my lugs is very appealing to me. It might increase the value of my car, but would likely have a negative effect on the value of my marriage. Group torque anyone??

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 5924341

The Re-Torque Tech is a SHE..... Sign me up.. I feel all torqued up just thinking about her..... "Hunny, GEEZ... eze up, she is just fixing my nuts!"

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 5924563

I tried that...trust me, doesn't work!

POST 22Original post

can you get arrested for a public group torque?
