Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm not familiar with that steering wheel model but the same concept applies: 2.8 ohm resistor replaces the airbag or the light will come on.
Leading evidence: 'Replace airbag or the light will come' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace airbag or the light will come' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

BTW, with an 01 cluster, can I just remove the airbag light bulb so I don't have to spend $100 to have it reset with a PST2?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am putting a Sparco wheel on this week. With a Momo hub, is there anything tricky as to hooking up the horn? It looks like the horn is plugged into the the airbag spring. Do I have to splice the horn wire in able to make a new connection? Does anyone know?
I'll go to my local dealer and hit them up, hopefully, they will reset it for free. otherwise, I think I will just pull the light bulb out of the cluster.
Well that's what happens when you have to go out of town for a week, my apologies to those who responded to my post, but I was able to get my mechanic to reset the codes and the airbag light and idiot engine light went away. So the answer was simply not turning on the iginition with the airbag disconnected or face a trip to the "hammer" to have codes reset.
There is a good DIY in p-car I think on the topic. Involves getting a Porsche part and retaining the Momo 7OO4 hub adapter. Worked great on my 993. Good luck.
On my 993 you follow the DIY at

it will tell you how to remove the airbag (careful!) make sure you don't turn on the ignition with the airbag off or you'll register a persistent fault code which will require a trip to the dealer to reset. You then install a 2.8 ohm resistor between the two wires that went to the airbag. The passenger airbag should still work.
