Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Firstly guys, thanks for all the feedback - positive and negative - especially the exciting ones from the OT board!!! One of the more common responses we had was that the overseas subs price made the magazine expensive in the US & Canada. So, we've reduced the overseas subscription rate from 74 to 61 - this is a saving of about US$25. You can subscribe, or order individual issues, at www.total911.com Happy reading! John

POST 2Original post

Still cheaper for us stateside to buy at Borders, etc.

POST 3Original post

Hi, Having just been to your website, I see that the current issue has a Targa Roof feature. Can you please tell me if the feature spotlights the current (i.e. 993 & 996) system or the older system? Thanks

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dell cheaper in bookstore, but you get it about 8 weeks later. Also, some B&N branches don't stock it (for reasons unknown to us!!) elsiesvg It does not cover the newer targa tops. Its a pierce about the iconic design of the first targa model

POST 5Original post

True, but I am still stumped why it would be cheaper through a middleman instead of direct from you.

POST 6Original post

Thanks John. Let me know when you do a feature on the newer Targa roofs please.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dell It costs us about 4 ($7.50) PER ISSUE to post it to your house. For o/seas sales via B&N or Borders we ship a few thousand mags in bulk via a container (actually, we don't do it - our distributors do it) which is much cheaper per issue. its also why there is a 7 week or so delay between UK publication and arrival in US. We are trying to sort a deal through a US based subs company to reduce the subs rate further. Re: Canadian bookstore prices, we are looking into why it is so costly in Canada. John

POST 8Original post

Thanks John for the explanation. That's so odd that postage costs what a single issue costs cover price. Learn something new everyday.

POST 9Original post

Dell - essentially there are 2 reasons. Firstly, we went against our distributors recommended retail price of $12.95 and chose to retail at $7.95. Our margins are reduced but we wanted to be able to compete. Secondly, the retail copies are shipped over in bulk and appear on the shelves 5 weeks after they go on sale in the UK; subscribers get theirs sent by Airmail which, from the UK, costs over 4 per issue...

POST 11Original post

$12.95? Ouch. Hate to say it, but I don't think at that price point you would have made it. $7.95 is still pricey and one that I will gladly pay b/c I feel that it is a great mag you have put together but to be honest I can say that I will probably only pick up a copy every few months. I am sure when you guys have a solid foundation and sucessful couple of years you will be able to secure a US printer/distributor that can make this mag more reasonably priced for us in the US. Cheers,

Print a North American version in Mexico and ship it north. Save $$ over printing in UK and shipping west. Ub
