Suggestion

The traffic pro has a buit-in CD which you can play music CDs after loading your route, but I just keep the map CD in all the time, and use my iPod in place of the CD changer.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

right out, dammit! I'm talkin' 'bout the 4 CD storage unit located in the center console that is absolutly worthless ( well not exactly worthless, a replacement unit costs 70 Euros). That will free up enough room for a garage door opener, or a something!! So how do I get the darned thing out??

POST 2Original post

just yank it - really, it comes right out. At least your CD holder is more useful than the cassette holder I yanked out

POST 3Original post

Get a putty knife, and insert it on one side and pop the tray out. It is just held in with Spring clips. You can get a replacement bin at your dealer, or someone on the board might want to trade for your cassette storage bin. That is what I did, I traded.

POST 5Original post

I actually like it and use it often. You can get an OEM switch and solder it to the contacts on the opener and chuck it wherever you have a dummy-

POST 6Original post

Hey Orient, How well does Traffic Pro work? Is the actual radio part the same power etc as the 220 in my TT? Is it accurate (uo to date CDs), and finally does it work with GPS? Thanks for any info.... Oh and, I use my CD case...but it could be better!

POST 7Original post

I like the traffic pro. It sounds very good, works with the Bose setup, etc., and is completely plug an play with the CD-220. Becker just released an update to the maps. They actually seem to have more data on them then my wife's Audi navigation. The traffic pro has a buit-in CD which you can play music CDs after loading your route, but I just keep the map CD in all the time, and use my iPod in place of the CD changer. And yes it uses GPS. There is the Porsche branded system which is going for about 600-800 on the used market, and then there is the Harman-Kardon branded system that is going for about $400. I recommend it.

POST 8Original post

Part number 996-552-253-01-602B eBay'ed mine from Brandywine Porsche for 39.95. The disc holder feels cheap.

POST 9Original post

OE, where did you get your new Becker map CDs? BTW, I really enjoy TP. I have the female British voice. Lovely to listen to!

POST 10Original post

how can I find or get the updated maps??? I am salavating!

POST 11Original post

Version 2.0 of the TP maps are available through Harman/Becker parts at [phone removed]. I believe that they are abut $240- $250

POST 12Original post

Holy Cr*p! OE, did you find the info etc. much more useful?
