Suggestion

I always find air in there after compressing pads, but since you only change fluid you should be ok.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This should be similar on a 996: I bled the brakes on my GT3 with Karys power bleeder and the ATE blue fluid. Put it up on stands and remove wheels (REALLY CAREFULLY IF YOU have PCCBs) The first thing is I sucked out 240CC's of fluid out of the master cylinder then replaced that with blue ATE fluid. Then we presurized the bottle once connected to the master cycliner to 15psi I thinks thats ok then bled the back while watching the bottle, pnce blue fluid comes out we go to the front till blue came out. once blue was at both drain sites on each caliper on the front we were done. a 11mm line wrench is the perfect tool for this. of course we kept topping of the master cylinder. The only mistake I made was to remove all the little rubber hats and put the wheels back on but a impact wrench made it really easy to pull em back off and put the hats back on and then the wheels. here is a pic of the rear with the tire off then the front off and then all the ducting to get air to the front brakes and then the bleeder I got from kary993 at group9motorsports no affiliation yada yada.... I did notice more feel after this but it could be my imagination

POST 2Original post

Interesting. I use the same motive bleeder. Is your clutch run off the same resivour or is it like the turbo? If it is like the 996 same resivour then you really should bleed it after the right rear wheel per Loren's isntructions. I always find air in there after compressing pads, but since you only change fluid you should be ok. Do gt3's not have fenderwell liners or did you take them out or cut them? Looks like you added the cup ducts?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

SPR that is the way I got the GT3. I dont think the clutch is the same as the turbo for one thing it takes much more effort to push in the clutch as did my TT.

POST 5Original post

Stange because it has basically no inner fenders save for the front whereas mine and the c4s/tt's wrap all the way around. I know the TT is a separate system and is power assisted. I doubted that the gt3 would be power assisted but didn't know if they separated the resivours-

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You should see my left quad! ITS ripped now. My right one is still flabby. I think all the inner wheel stuff is deleted for weight.
