I did some searches in the archives and there is lots of posts about cables that run along the top that rub together...but I couldn't find any posts on how to fix the problems...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got 2001 Cab back from the dealer today after taking it in for the squeeks and noise for the convertible top. They didn't really fix the problem (I probably should have taken a ride with the tech guy!) - so I thought I'd try and take a look at doing it myself - even though its under warantee, its a pain taking the car up to the dealer....does anyone have the TSBs for the cab noise? I think they are: 6101a, 6101b, and 6110. Or can anyone describe what each of these TSB's entail? I did some searches in the archives and there is lots of posts about cables that run along the top that rub together...but I couldn't find any posts on how to fix the problems... Thanks, Will

POST 2Original post

I had the same problem on my '02 cab right after delivery. Here are the codes and descriptions on the invoice after the work was done under warranty: 61010100 Check top for operation and alignment 61911999 Modify Zusatzlappe 61901999 REpair loose cabriolet top housing.

POST 4Original post

Mine was fixed by dealer with a replacement of the flocking panel (plastic panel in front). Try a different dealer as the tech's experience varies. I finally got every noise out of my car after 3 visits. The latest dealer drove 20 mi to find the rattle -- I think he had a good time...

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been over the Renntech.org - you need to me a paying member to access the TSB's....thought I would ask here since I'm a member here! Sounds like the majority of the folks just take it back to the dealer....I was hoping that there were some DIYers!!!!

POST 6Original post

The DIY'ers are here AND renntech.org I have contributed to renntech as well and find it a great resource. The TSB's alone have more than saved me what I contributed.
