I swapped pads to Pagid yellow and have been driving with them for a while, done a couple of DEs etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I swapped pads to Pagid yellow and have been driving with them for a while, done a couple of DEs etc. Recently the brakes not just squeal but chirp and rasp when braking lightly. I'm almost embarrassed when people look at me :-) The pads seem to have plenty of material left. Any ideas why?

POST 2Original post

OEM brake pads don't make noise, but if you track the car and need best braking orange Pagid are recommended, but they are very noisy. When you drive your car in the city, everybody turn the head to look at you when you stop at traffic ligths. It's a bit embarrasing ha ha If you do a long distance race track, then you might choose Pagid yellow pads, but I don't know how noisy theyare, though if they are similar to orange , I could imagine

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The issue is that earlier they squealed and I could live with that but now they chirp and rasp as well.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I suspect the brake pad surface has glazed a bit. How do I fix that?

POST 5Original post

Try bedding in the brakes. It couldn’t hurt but for increased performance on the track the usual tradeoff is more noise on the street. I just swap out pads for track use.
