My short reply would be to say that simply because I used weight as one of my multiple criteria for not selecting a cab, that doesn't mean I won't consider other weight-inducing options, like the AWD.

I was on a fun run a few weeks ago with bunch of p-cars and a few of them were cabriolets. I have never driven a cab and was wondering for the people who do--why do you enjoy the top off driving experience? The people with cabs were obviously having fun and I am wondering if I'm missing some fun by not having one? WHY DO YOU DRIVE A CABRIOLET?

POST 2Original post

The open top experience is just fantastic. Wife and I had a wedding in Riverhead Long Island which is basically two exits from England. To avoid holiday traffic we drove out Saturday night and left early this morning... both times with the top down and loving every minute. I can sum it up as: Fall days and summer nights, wow. Rob

POST 3Original post

I enjoy the cab becuase in Southern Cali, there is very little time for performance/sport driving in town. Unless you want to drive in the middle of the night, or 2 hours away, I figure I might as well enjoy some sunshine while I drive. I don't know the official numbers, but I think we got 4" of rain in 2007 so far. Nice weather for having the top down. If you like your sunroof open, then you will like cabrio. I think you know right away whether or not it is for you if you take a drive in one.

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 4539548

Hey, I resemble that remark.. Grew up in Hampton Bays - if Riverhead is 2 exits from England, HB was one. To add to what Rob said: To me, putting the top down just adds to the overall experience. I think it all depends upon how much you drive and where.. if the vast majority of your driving is on 4 lane highways at 65 mph+, the ragtop may not add much to your experience, and in fact, may hinder it since they're noiser. If the vast majority of your driving is around town and on smaller backcountry roads, being able to drive "al fresco" is what it's all about. Nothing finer than cruising on a twisty mountain 2 lane with the top down, or driving around town on a nice summer's evening with the breeze drifting in. - Nick P.S. Rob - Carvel studio's - any relation to the ice cream guys or did you just like the name? We used to have a Carvel in Hampton Bays.. for a treat my Dad would walk us up there for a cone. On special occasions we'd get sprinkles. On your birthday, a Sunday

POST 6Original post

It's easier for the ladies to throw their undies in the car.

POST 7Original post

pro -you can hear the engine/exhaust better -you can be seen easier cons -it doesn't look nearly as good as the coupe -it's heavier and chassis is weaker

POST 8Original post

I drive a 996 cabriolet because it is 3 cars in one! It's a great open car: and I live in one of the best open car places in the world. It is an outstanding car with a soft-top: Sometimes the women don't want their hair mussed! And if the weather gets nasty or I need a high-speed comfortable and quiet touring car, it is a great hard top coupe: What more could anyone want in a car? I think the question would be more properly phrased as "why would you NOT drive a cabriolet?" After all driving a Porsche is all about enjoyment, and a cabriolet is the ultimate in versatile enjoyment.

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 4539721

Or out of the car, as the case may be While I can't claim to ever have that particular experience, the social aspects of having a cab are not to be dismissed. I've struck up more than a few conversations with pedestrians and / or fellow cab owners, waiting for a light to change.. - Nick

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 4539746

that's actually a con in my book. but cabs are perfect for a nice warm spring/summer night in Cali.

POST 13Original post

For me, it's about 40% of the motorcycle experience. Nothing like hanging it all out in the wind, but alot of times I'm too lazy to suit up properly or I need to carry more than 2 grocery bags worth of stuff. The smell of the air (when not in traffic) and the sounds of nature mixed with the burble of exhaust can be very intoxicating. Andrew

POST 14Original post

My next one will be a cab for sure. Been driving a few for testing, and I simply enjoy driving way more. Also a pro in my book is, that with the roof down you feel you go faster than you really are. Which is great for quenching my lust for speeding :-D

POST 15Original post

I like my cab because it gives me that visceral sensation of being in direct contact with everything around me. I can feel, hear, and smell the engine, the tires, the, road, the trees, the sun, the moon, the sky, the rain. It's a heightened sensation you can't get through a window. For kicks sometimes I cruise through the woods in the pitch black night with the top down and the headlights off and it never fails to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. You really can't get the full open top experience on a test drive. If you can't beg, borrow or steal one, rent a convertible for a few days. Drive it everywhere through the day and night. Then you will know if you are a cab guy. BTW, if you think you will want to track or race your car, keep in mind you will need to get a roll bar for a cab.

POST 16Original post

Easy for me to explain why. I wanted a Boxster and my wife's dream car was a 911. I didn't fit in the Boxster so we "compromised" and got a 911 CAB

POST 18Original post

I've ridden motorcycles for years and it was always irritating, esp. in hot weather, to dress up as Space Man Spiff. As Orient Express said, the Porsche cab with a removable hard top gives you the best of everything and you can do it in shorts and a T-shirt. I find no "down side" to it. Cabs resell very well. I would only be cautious about buying one if I didn't trust where it was parked overnight.

POST 19Original post

After owning hardtops for all my years driving and now having the "Cab"........I can kick myself for having missed out on this very enjoyable driving experience. Do try and drive a convertible for at least a few days whatever the type of car, if you like the feeling, then "doing it" in a Porsche will only be even better!

POST 20Original post

It is funny this thread came up...just last night I was soooo grateful to own a cab. I was out with a friend for the usual dinner and a movie. We were in the SouthBay...Torrance, CA area...for those that know So Cal. We took an hour drive up and down PALOS VERDES DRIVE...into San Pedro and turned around and came right back into Redondo Beach. Man it was nice...last night in Los Angeles the weather couldnt of been better for a top down cruise in the darkness with the stars above...music playing and light convo! I think/hope I scored points with my "friend!" TGIHAC!!!! Thank God I Have A Cab!

POST 21Original post

Owning a convertible is a teen age dream come true. The reality started in 1999 with my first Boxster and culminated with the C2.The experience is difficult to describe completely. The openness is exhilarating and the total unobstructed view is without comparison in a 4 wheel vehicle. You just feel great driving with the top down. As much as I admire the coupe, I would never consider leaving the cab experience

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 4539538

I do because if I had a coupe I'd drive it fast 100% of the time to enjoy it. With a cab I can pop the top and just cruise to have a good time.

POST 23Original post

Quotes source post: 4541352

Having both the coupe and the cab I'd say there's some truth to this.

POST 24Original post

I just got mine first Cab 2 weeks ago. I live in the Great White North, Toronto, Ontario. I can tell you one thing....I so happy with it, that we have had the top down every single minute. Even when the temp. hits 12 C we just put the heated seats on and window up and away we go..... Looking forward to long drives to view the wonderful fall colours up north...not looking forward to putting the hard top on, for the colder months....but it still looks great to me with it on. The panty thing hasn't happened to me yet...but you never know when a pretty young thing will have the urge to toss them in!!!! Driving around with a huge smile on...all the time.

POST 25Original post

did anyone mention drive the cab in the rain with top-down?

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 4541512

I've done it, but only light rain. However, driving with the top down when it's about 40F out... NICE.

POST 27Original post

Its very relaxing to drive home in the evening with the top down after a tough day... almost theraputic, especially in the fall and spring evenings. Driving over the Santa Cruz mountains at night is another great experience. The sound (with PSE) and the top down is also fantastic. I tried a 997 Coupe and opened the sunroof, but its not even close to being the same experience. The lines of the Coupe can be beat with the cab, but the points above outweight this. Oh, for my local PCA events, pop ups are fine for the track as rollover protection. So you can drive back from the track relaxing with the top down :-) It may not be a perfect track car, but its still a lot of fun, and more capable than i am as a driver.

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 4539721

For the gals here in NH, those can act as car covers, so you really don't want em doing that........ Riad has it right........ the open air experience is unique............ If you already have everything else, a cab is the cherry on top.

POST 29Original post

I do now feel the need to drive a water-cooled 911 cab with the sport exhaust.

POST 30Original post

Quotes source post: 4541934

LOL. I'll have to try to forget that imagery just to get to sleep tonight. btw, with the top down, the standard Porsche exhaust has plenty of volume--although some will still go for a different sound. I've been amazed at how well noise and air are handled, even at higher speeds. Having owned a number of English and Italian sport cars over the years (all drop tops), some of the engine noises were memorable -- but they could tiresome on longer rides. It's not that you would just prefer to listen to the engine rather than the radio, there simply wasn't a choice above 30mph. Out on the highway, between the noise and wind buffeting, you could be worn out after 3-4 hours. I've been surprised and pleased by how pleasant the car is at any legal or semi-legal speed.

POST 31Original post

I agree with most of the posters...riad, Orient, et al. For me a cab is a sports car...coupe is a race car...had both, but now just like to cruise listen to the EPs purr...open air driving in the CO Rockies...just awesome!

POST 32Original post

Heh, I must be the only guy here that specifically avoided the cab. Also, I haven't even been here that long, but didn't we just have this thread? Anyway, my reasons for specifically choosing a coupe were: 1) ~200 lbs. or so (I believe) of extra weight. Coming from a car (Miata) that weighed much closer to 2000 lbs., this is a huge amount for me. I very much enjoy driving lightweight cars--I could put a 12-pack of beer in the trunk of the Miata and feel its effect on the handling. Interestingly enough, a similar effect seems to be found with items in the 996's trunk, but I think it's more a matter of the placement than the weight. 2) Additional chassis flex: Convertibles are just plain never as stiff as their coupe counterparts. Some convertibles aren't bad, and some are really bad, but they're all more flexible than the coupes. 3) I've been told the back seat is slightly more receptive to car seats. This IS everyone else's family car, isn't it? 4) The convertibles seem to be slightly more expensive. 5) As the driver of a lot of highway miles, I'm just not that much in to the open top experience these days. Heck, the hard top has been affixed to the poor Miata all summer--I haven't even bothered to take it for a drive with the top down. 6) Plastic rear window. 'nuff said 7) Leakiness/creakiness factor I guess I just decided that I didn't care for the convertible experience as I once did. Don't get me wrong--I don't begrudge anyone that owns and enjoys their cab. Also, this list was just an exercise in the negatives of a cab...I don't necessarily mean that some of them are a huge deal.

POST 33Original post

Quotes source post: 4542717

Uh, no. The 911 cabs have had glass rear windows since '02.

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 4542848

OK, but I wasn't looking at '02s...I was looking for a '99 or '00.

POST 35Original post

Quotes source post: 4542717

Since you are apparently new around here and apparently don't have good manners Why don't you go to another thread...as this one is specifically for those who drive cabs and the reasons for it I mean a miata...WTF?

POST 36Original post

Quotes source post: 4542717

Some people crack me up. Chassis flex, blah blah blah....... I'll tell you what chassis flex boy, I'd like to see you talk about chassis flex after I show exactly what a cab can do around a high speed road circuit. It appears some people just love to be condescending without a shred of backup. Not a single leak in my CAB by the way. Oh yeah, it's a 2000. Time to go to another thread where you actually can read the title of it properly. There has got to be a thread titled "why do you NOT like a cab".

POST 39Original post

Bought my second one after 10 years, would not be without one now !

POST 40Original post

Because I need to keep up my "farmers tan".... Benjamin....WTF.." a coupe looks better" !!?? that is your personal opinion!! A coupe looks different (and yes pretty damn nice!) but better looking?!? You must also think that blond hair big boobed girls look better than brunettes with small perky ones!? (or the other way around)...I am a lucky man I guess...I like them both. Would I trade my cab for Dell's GT3 .....mmmmmmhhhhhhh YES I think so!! Lucky basterd...yellow with black rims and red calipers....love it...and knowing he has the best of both worlds (GT3 and a cab) almost makes me mad!!

POST 41Original post

Since this thread is starting to deteriorate, I figure I'll stir the pot a bit . I find the 996 cab to be much more visually appealing than the 993 cab. I do love the look of the 993 coupes though. The cab just appears to have too much going on back there.

POST 42Original post

Quotes source post: 4543613

I am not ready to say that the 996 cab looks better than a 993, but with the convertible top closed, in my mind, in really does have some of the traditional lines of a Speedster. On the other hand, the hard top looks a little bulbous (more like a Cayman) -- not as sleek as a coupe. Yet, there's still nothing like its versatility. And it sure is nice to have a rear pair of windows to lower with the hard top in place. I think most of the criticisms voiced by tooloud10 are either dated (at best) or are more "book criticisms." Technically, a cab does weigh more and has more flex than a coupe. This has no bearing on normal driving and these just become scapegoats for poor driving technique. I would wager there are relatively few people who can get so much out of their cars that a cab's weight and flex have quantifiable consequences. (I was amused at a recent track event where two seriously overweight drivers were bragging about spending more than $15K in mods to drop 15-20 pounds from their cars....when there were more obvious, less-expensive ways to drop 30-50 pounds from their driving experience.) And while it is true that a cab is also not capable of Vertical Take Off (from a standstill) nor Able To Leap Tall Buildings, neither detracts from the pleasant qualities it does have.

POST 43Original post

Quotes source post: 4542961

Go to another thread? Doesn't sound like I'm the one with the manners issue. As far as the Miata goes, I'm not embarrassed by it in the least. Is it powerful? No. Is it a capable sports car? Absolutely, and I'm not such a Porsche snob that I can't admit it.

POST 44Original post

Quotes source posts: 4543026, 4543026, 4543026

Boy, several of you guys are pretty thin-skinned. I don't doubt that your cab is plenty capable around a high-speed road circuit; in the end, it's a pointless comment, as it wouldn't be as quick as a comparable coupe. <shrug> I explained my reasoning several times, and I can back up every statement. Can you back up your road circuit comment? There's not, and I didn't realize that some of you guys couldn't handle discussing some contrasts between the coupe and cab models. I didn't know this was nothing more than a shiny "feel good" thread to make everyone all warm and fuzzy inside. I guess I'm not allowed to view these cars through anything less than rose-colored spectacles. My apologies.

LOL- Yes, Dell can back up his "road circuit" comment. Back to the thread at hand... As long as I have the means, I will have a 911 Cab and a 911 Track car in the garage. I agree 100% with the notion that a 911 Cab is a "sports car" and a 911 Coupe is a "track car". I really don't enjoy driving my "street" GT3 on the road as the experience will never match the adrenaline felt from serious track time. On the other hand, there is no therapy better than putting the top down on my 911 Speedster on a Friday night after a long work week and going for a spirited drive. Pure nirvana.... Is it just me, or do our 911s seem to run better in fall temperatures? Damn, I love my Cab... -B

Quotes source post: 4544895

Compared to other sports cars/roadsters in its class. Giggle if you want, but the Miata has its place in the market, and its mostly because it's a cheap, light, almost perfectly balanced open car that feels unlike most anything else. C'mon, it routinely places in those "best-handling street cars"-type tests. Don't discount it just because it doesn't cost as much as some people's homes.

I really didn't think that tooloud's comments were out of line. I'm surprised how everyone jumped on him--he certainly did not direct his original comments at any individual. Black '99 C4 coupe with a new motor...replaced because of RMS issue. I considered a cabriolet but decided that a coupe would suit my life better.

My lord, what a PIG! How can you stand driving anything that heavy? Everyone know's C2's are the only way to fly. I thought you were the one telling us you could feel a 12 pack of beer in the trunk? - Nick P.S. Hey, don't look at me - I drive a C4 Cab - but to make up for the added weight I only buy beer in 6 packs.

POST 56Original post

The cab with the top down is the better looking car. What price can you put on a late night top down run in a droptop porsche? Although the hardtop is great for the track it cant compete in the real drivers world of having your cake and eating it to. Hands down the cab wins!

As others have already pointed out, that's not the subject of the thread. My short reply would be to say that simply because I used weight as one of my multiple criteria for not selecting a cab, that doesn't mean I won't consider other weight-inducing options, like the AWD. Does a C4 cab not weigh more than a C4 coupe? I would have preferred the C2, but I preferred not garaging it all winter even more. Read again; I was talking about one of my other cars. <shrug> I avoid 6-packs because some of the beer I enjoy comes in clear bottles.

I'm crushed. Respecting my comments does not preclude you from what you have received here on this thread. Obviously, as has been pointed out, you are chiming in on a thread for which your opinion was NOT asked. You failed to realize that, and in turn were called out, then mad when you were. Don't give an opinion when it isn't asked for, especially with info you think are facts that aren't. Time to unsubscribe from this thread. I think the OP got what he was looking for and then some. ps. I never said I was faster in a cab than a coupe nor did my friend (B), but rather I'd be happy to show you how fast a CAB is around a circuit since you talk about it's deficiencies like they handicaps.

Oh and the most important reason is real men drive Cabrio's.

POST 63Original post

not to beat a dead horse...but as anyone that reads EXCELLENCE magazine..the Turbo cab on the cover this month and the review...was pretty GLOWING. The writer even titled the article a GUILTY PLEASURE...because he just like tooloud10...was always told "cabs are heavy...waaah", "cabs body are not stiff they flex...wahhh" etc etc...but the writer said the turbo cab was one of the fastest, most fun cars he has ever driven. And..all the weight..and body flex...he actually ENJOYED...he said car behaved as it should and was so much fun to drive....and on and on and on... and..my last 2 cents..I thought that Porsche was one of the few car companies that developed the Cab...as a Cab...and not just chopped the top off of a coupe and put a soft top on it..like other manufacturers. Porsche's cabs are designed specifically as soft tops..and all the R&D etc..goes into knowing from the drawing board it will be a convertible. and the Miata..is a "sporty" roadster...not a SPORTS CAR....I think there is a difference in defintion. I know they compete and do very well..and I know they are balanced and handle well..but by definition I would never consider it a true sports car. But hey...whatever.

First, let me say that I just want to remind everyone that I don't have a problem with cabs--I just decided to get a coupe and thought that this was as good a thread as any to share my [decidedly over-] thought process. I recognize that convertibles can be very fun cars--part of the reason that I already own one, and have for almost ten years--but decided that my 996 was going to be more of an "all-seasons" car. That said, regarding the article you mentioned: an automotive journalist for a P-car specific publication enjoyed getting paid to be seen in a new $130k+ bright yellow turbo cab? That's no shocker...I'll bet I'd be impressed as well and would love to own one. ...but that doesn't mean the car doesn't have its pros and cons as compared to the coupe. Since the pros had already been posted, I found this as good a place as any to share my thoughts, and I don't think a reasonable person would consider the thread placement to be inappropriate. Indeed, we've all seen threads veer off quite a bit further than that. RWD?...check. 50/50 balance?...check. Open top?...check. I didn't come here to talk about Miatas, but technically it's probably more of a sports car than my AWD P-car...at least, that's the old car guys would say.

Come on...all jokes aside..you have to be kidding....

POST 71Original post

I drive a cab so I can continually spark pros / cons debates with coupe guys.

POST 72Original post

Most if not all the complaints offered up about the cabs are not true any longer. The cab weight penalty is less than the weight of a passenger. 2) Additional chassis flex: Convertibles are just plain never as stiff as their coupe counterparts. Some convertibles aren't bad, and some are really bad, but they're all more flexible than the coupes. Porsche has addressed the flex issue on the late 996 models and the 997s. I don't hear or feel any flex in mine. 3) I've been told the back seat is slightly more receptive to car seats. This IS everyone else's family car, isn't it? The head room in the back is infinite with a cab! The back seats have always been for short (thrill) rides and are easier to get into with the top down. 4) The convertibles seem to be slightly more expensive. Cabs are $10,000 more than coupes. So what? With a Porsche, what's another $10K? 5) As the driver of a lot of highway miles, I'm just not that much in to the open top experience these days. Heck, the hard top has been affixed to the poor Miata all summer--I haven't even bothered to take it for a drive with the top down. Your personal situation appears to dictate a coupe. But the hard top works well. 6) Plastic rear window. 'nuff said What plastic window? Mine is glass. In fact, when I have my hardtop on, the rear window is larger than that on the coupe. 7) Leakiness/creakiness factor With 17,000 miles I have not experienced it yet. These are pretty nice tops,--the best in the industry. I guess I just decided that I didn't care for the convertible experience as I once did. Don't get me wrong--I don't begrudge anyone that owns and enjoys their cab. Also, this list was just an exercise in the negatives of a cab...I don't necessarily mean that some of them are a huge deal. Years ago I read that you should own a convertible at least once in your life. What better cab than a 911 cab? I bought it to slow me down. I can still have fun with it at 25-35 mph while someone in sterile coupe environment has to explain to the cops why he 'felt I was only going 65..."

POST 73Original post

But Edgy01 let me ask you this, do you have clear bra?

POST 74Original post

All of you coupe owners know exactly why it is better to have a convertible when you see us pass you with the top down on a beautiful day. I live in LA and if you buy a coupe over a convertible, and it isn't a track car, I think you are crazy! I love passing the hardtop sports cars on a nice day and just sticking my hand out the top and waiving hello and watching their face melt!

POST 75Original post

I love my cab, but when it gets over 80 degrees.....my face has a tendency to melt as well!! BUT I keep the top down...airco max and hoping for no traffic jams!! I think the Targa guys have the best of both worlds! Open or closed!

POST 76Original post

it's one thing to enjoy the sun and another thing to enjoy the look of your ride. sure if i had to make a decision between a 430 coupe or 430 spider, i'd pick the latter everytime. why? because the spider looks as good as the coupe. you can be seen easier. you can hear everything much better. it's just much more involving. in the case of the 911, it just does not look good as a convertible. in fact, i'd say it's lines and proportions are downright ugly. so when i see a 911 cab pass by i'm like... damn that thing is a turtle without the shell.

I live in LA and my face is not melting when I see convertibles drive by. It's all personal preference, don't assume that every guy driving a coupe wants a convertible. If you were driving around this weekend in the 105F+ weather with the top down, I'm pretty sure your face was, in fact, melting.

IOW, there IS a weight penalty. 166 lbs or so, according to edmunds. They have done a great job, but I'll bet you'd easily feel it on back-to-back comparison drives. I would agree that on its own, this is not a reason to avoid cabs. I say the back seats are for whatever you use them for...I keep a 4-year-old in mine, and I'll take all the space I can get. Uh, in my case, $10k would be the difference between me owning a P-car and not. Oh, absolutely--my situation already demands that I store one hardtop for most of the year. My SO would probably scream if I stuffed another one in the garage. I believe the '99-01s all have plastic rear windows. Unfortunately, those were the exact years I was looking at while shopping, so it IS a concern for a lot of us. This is probably true and again, that one aspect on its own wouldn't be enough to sway my decision. Agreed, and I must say, it's nice to see someone's not offended because I chose a different model than they did!

POST 83Original post

Quotes source post: 4549468

An excellent point--the 911's profile sure didn't become a legend because of the look of the cabs. My 4-year-old recognizes 911 coupes on the highway and screams "Daddy! Por-schuh!" She sometimes recognizes a cab with the lid up, but never with the lid down. And yes, she pronounces it correctly!

POST 84Original post

I have to jump in to offer nothing of value - but since mine is a cabrio, I feel I am allowed. 1. I too have had issue with some of Dell's comments in the past, but I thought the "TROLL ALERT" 100 times was one of the FUNNIEST posts I have ever seen. Kinda like on the playground "nah nah nah na nah naaaaaa." Classic. 2. About 15 years ago my Porsche Turbo was in the shop getting a new clutch - (that was back when they really knew how to charge for stuff - over $1000 just for parts.) Circle Imports gave me a Miata rent a car and I was EMBARRASED TO DRIVE THE THING AROUND. I gave to my girlfriend to drive for the 3 days and drove her Honda. That thing is no no way, shape or form, a sports car. 3. Riad - I am also Sicilian and love your quote about Olive Garbage as we call it in my family.

POST 87Original post

I hope others don't hear how many good days we have in Seattle. The traffic is bad enough. And, yep, with the top down, the back end of the car does have a slight turtle quality to it. man i drove an s2000 every single day, every day of the year in seattle for 50K miles straight outta undergrad and enjoyed every single mile of it. seattle is awesome if not a bit too small of a city for me. i hope to move to LA soon. and fellas, i rarely if ever make fun of the owner and the way they look or what they wear.. it's alwasy directly tied with what they choose to spend their time/energy on doing to their automobile, but quite often i get stabs back at me that are very personal in nature esp of my avatar (intentionally put up there) which is fine because that just goes to show who has their d!ck tied to their car and who is truly a cool dude who happens to share in the same love for 911s as i do. so when certain people put me in the too cool for school "ignore" list, it's friqqin hilarious how serious these guys take stuff and they're doing ME a favor because i don't wanna fraternize w/ wussys in panties. anyways, apologize for the tangent. how can this profile not be true to the 911 line? pls. it is all there, 1000%.

Benji...I know it is ridiculous (glad I could provide some humor for you), by and large when driving I wear a cap and sunscreen. There are times when I close it up (too hot, parking, etc.) and these times it is nice to have the tint. You find it very hard to see inside when it is buttoned up. All of my CO cars are tinted to the max. Of course I really don't care what you think

Contrary to Seattle, where you only 2 seasons - wet & dry - we have 4 seasons around here. Though they may come in any order and all in the same week "Spring" and "Fall" it's nice to drive around with the top down. "Summer" can get a bit warm. In the "winter," driving around with the top down tends to let snow accumulate in the back seat - Nick
