Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone. I need to change the fuel pump on my 98' 996. I have pulled battery out and unscrewed the top of the sender unit, but this doesnt seem to come out all the way ? Where is the actual fuel pump that I need to replace ? Does anyone have pics or links to another post ? Any help appreciated, thx everyone.

POST 2Original post

Did you look on Renntech? Have you tried a search? I'll look and see what I can find.

POST 3Original post

According to Renntech, the fuel pump and sender unit are one unit. I'd suggest you go there and I feel pretty sure you'll find what you need. Pat

POST 4Original post

It looks like the sender is attached to the pump but can be disconnected. The pump itself (bottom of tank) needs to be rotated 15 degrees to release the lock. Here's a picture of the procedure:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hmm..looks pretty straight forward... surprised to find out that Boxster and Carrera share the same fuel pump.. I'll tackle it this weekend and post some pics up .. Thx everyone..
