front tires. right now i have 265 18" in the back. i am due for tire change soon, can i go bigger and what size. I have a 01 porsche C4 Aerokit. 2) have you guys put spacers in the rear & front to bring the wheel out & make it look good, do you recommend spacers?

You can go to 285/30 on the rear without a problem, no spacers or anything, and you can keep the same size fronts, 225/40. If you want a wider rim, say 11" instead of 10, you'll need spacers, and also should move to a wider tire in the front, or you'll have massive understeer. Pretty much the gt3 setup.

You won't need spacers with an 11" wide rear wheel on a narrowbody. You just need to get the correct offset. Obviously you can't place a wheel with the offset for a widebody on the narrowbody and expect it to fit properly, but if you order a custom wheel with the correct offset or find a wheel with an offset similar to the C2, C4 (non-widebody), or GT3 you'll be fine.

Yes you can use 285 on the car. You can also use 295, but it might be a little tight on the stock rim. You might need a custom set of rims. Like Adam said for 11 inch make sure they are the correct offset for narrow bodies.

I had 295's on the stock 10's no problem it did make the thing understeer more. BTW you will want to dial in the front camber to offset the larger rears. When I went from the 265's rear, which made the car seem perfect and nice and tossable all day; the 295's made it terrible. I immediately got an alignment like after an hour and cranked it to -.5f -1.4r. Looking back and at the gt3 specs -1 would be better from the front even though it accelerates tire wear a bit, but when you crank the rear in you are making the problem worse etc.
