Use a putty knife or something similar to get the wax out of it's Jar...and then rub it against the pad similar to how you would rub the applicator into the jar to get product on it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I finally drove down to Tacoma and picked up a polisher from Griots on the weekend. I spent all of Sunday working on our cars, and I am blown away by how easy it is to use the machine.
I have a full can of Blitz one grand wax, and I want to use it on 2 of the cars we have. The Porsche is going to get Regex.
Has anyone used an orbital with a wax pad to apply paste wax? I am wondering how to get the wax onto the pad. (I know it is super easy to apply by hand, but I am hoping the machine will give it a better shine and make it last longer).

To clarify...you want the wax out of the jar in one big puck, don't take small pieces out with the knife.
You can use any kind of popsickle stick or any scrap to dab it on. You want to put it in the center of the pad and then put the pad against the car before turning it on. Also you will be surprised how a little will go a really long way. There is no advantage to putting it on thick so just roll with it without reapplying unitl your pad is dry. I'm guessing that will keep the pad from gunking up too. I can't find anything in the literature that says past wax is better so I stick with liquid. Also I don't wash the pads, I buy the terry cloth ones from Wal-Mart and they seem to be adequate. I think there is a detailing debate here monthly so some of the guys may be weary offering their two cents so now you have mine.
i use a cheap $40 one from wal-mart.
I apply the wax with one 9-10" terry cloth bonnet.
-wipe off most of the dry wax with a cloth(not all comes off)
-use a new clean terry cloth bonnet and take off remaining wax.
_use a real soft bonnet to shine up even more
takes about 90-120 min.
I would not use an orbital for wax (assuming you mean carnuba). While it can be done and some detailers do this as it may be less work, I think it is hard to get the right amount on and get to all of the spots. Some prep materials or scratch/swirl removal, polymers maybe, but not carnuba!
I think wax should be put on by hand, THEN buffed off either by hand or a nice soft bonnet. Using a machine to put on wax is too sloppy for me! And it misses little nooks and crannys you can only get by hand.
