Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okey its another ET freaking thread and yes I need to ask this =) Anyways I found wheels Ive been looking for for a while now but the size and ET are these and Im not sure eather of this et will fit my 996 c2 NB ? 8.5X19" ET53 10X19" ET26 11X19" ET38.5 12X19" ET51 I think this would fit in the front 8.5X19" ET53, but which one would fit in the rear? Regards // Norb

POST 2Original post

Norb, You are still trying to fit a round peg into a square hole, by taking a compromised size and trying to make it fit. (in my opinion) All of those rears look bad IMHO. You have the Porsche offsets, right? You have the offset calculator right? http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah I know they are bad, but which one could MAYBE work? Im willing to take a chanse here guys!

POST 4Original post

Why don't you just go all the way up to high-polish chrome 22s? That would be mad pimpin', bra.

POST 5Original post

the rears wont fit.... so why bother, dude, your just wasting time and money.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not even this, not even on the mm? If I give them away to a shop to change ET, propably best is to polish the hub down, which of those et would be best for the job?

POST 7Original post

I do not understand why not take an experts advise right to the bank Why not take advantage/use all the tools available to you Knowledge is everything, I'd lean heavy on it here to avoid issues or wasted money. It's not just about taste or looks right?

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 5337540

None of those rear wheels will fit with that ET and I doubt you can grind down the hub that much.

POST 9Original post

Norb, you remind me of my eight year old. And I mean that in a fatherly way .

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 5337540

Norb, just stop........ Grinding away the hub is not a solution (at least not one that I would ever consider). What happens if the wheel fails at speed???? My advice, quit goofing around with compromised wheels and get good wheels that fit. There are tons of quality wheels available with correct offsets. What is it about these wheels that make you want to push the limits? I think you need to post up some pics as these bad boys must be really special.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Finally when I find the wheels I wanted for a year the damn ET doesnt match up, this is not cool! Im going to the garage to check what ET my 19" have they are on the spot. Palting: Yeah Iam like a four year old, never grew up is my moto =) If anyone have any good info on my question, post it, dont be afraid of those guys above =) Muhaha....

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Higher ET they sink in more into the car, Lower ET they come out from the fender, am I correct?

www.wheelenhancement.com Talk to Alan Baylis. Spend the Kronas to make that phone call. It'll save you money, heartache, and get you a big smile when you get wheels that not only look good to you, but fit great. I don't know how much more anyone else can add here. It's absolutely befuddling to me how you can't seem to take advice - good advice.

POST 15Original post

Norb, Post up some Pics or a link to these wheels.

I don't mean to be harsh, but the second post in this thread included this link: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp Click on that link, look at the picture, and then come back and tell us the answer to your question.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5339391

Yeah and that is a calculator, it realy doesnt answer my question if I dont have the offsets to compare. But the answer was as I thought. PEACE

POST 19Original post

Noby... We wanna see these wheels, maybe we can help you better if we can see what we're dealing with...

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5339737

Nooooo way that sounds tricky I think Im going to try to order them and see what happends, worst case scenario will be to sell them. I think I try this... Front 8.5X19" ET53 Rear 10X19" ET26

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 5339672

Noby, Sorry I thought you had the O.E. offsets. Here is what you need to know. 8.5X19" ET53 Inner Clearance: 9mm less, Outer Clearance: 3mm more These should fit IMO 10X19" ET26 Inner Clearance: 39mm MORE, Outer Clearance: 39mm MORE No friken way 11X19" ET38.5Inner Clearance: 14mm MORE, Outer Clearance: 40 mm MORE No friken way 12X19" ET51Inner Clearance: 11mm Less, Outer Clearance: 39 mm MORE No firken way Just my opinion. Now I did you a favor, Please post some pics!!!!

POST 22Original post

Standard fitment on 996 C2 Narrow Body: 8 x 18 ET 50 or 52 fronts; 10x18 ET 65 rear. If you go up to 19" wheels, the offset would remain the same (50 up front and 65 in the rear).

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okey boyz today I looked up what my rear ones have and took a picture, what you guys think now?! So what you guys think, it could work with this ones 12X19" ET51? hmm... Its a risk they touch the coilovers I guess? 10x19" ET45

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I guess everyone is in chock, ET 45 hah...

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 5345088

I'm not sure what the question is? 10 x 19 ET 45 will give you Inner Clearance: 20mm MORE, Outer Clearance: 20mm MORE Now you think because that works that (12X19" ET51Inner Clearance: 11mm Less, Outer Clearance: 39 mm MORE) will work??? I don't see it happening. Noby, that is the last bit of "help" I'll give you until you post some pics or tell us the Brand and Model wheel you are looking at.

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ray: In that calculator, what standard current wheels specs are you typing in?

POST 28Original post

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5346489

Then I dont know how you did your calculation on that site. Because if I put in Current Wheel Specs 18" and ET65 New Wheel Specs 19" and ET45 I get Inner Clearance: 7mm Outer Clearance: EXTEND an extra 33mm And you got Inner Clearance: 20mm MORE Outer Clearance: 20mm MORE Can u explain it?

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5346685

OMG you are so happy you found the wheels you think are those... lets say it is and tell me what Im going wrong as they have the same ET as it looks. But I dont understand why it matters what wheels it is as long as we have the size and ET.

POST 36 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL... looks like a bit too high ET? Okey but was that what you were gonna tell me?

POST 37Original post

Quotes source post: 5346803

Ok, you are entering the wheel diameter in the calculator. You need to be entering the wheel width. i.e. enter it as follows Current Wheel Specs 10" and ET65 New Wheel Specs 10" and ET45 Got it??

POST 45Original post

this thread hurts my brain. However, it is fun to watch you guys try talk some offset sense into Noby, but me thinks he made up his mind to buy the wrong sized rims before starting the thread. Noby, I say Rock on and post pics in a month or so when they make it to the continent and you work out your spacers.

POST 46Original post

Noby, you are hilarious. I wonder what is the reason you do not want to tell Ray S what wheels you are trying to fit but yet still asking for help.

POST 47Original post

Ray, bless you for trying to help him. I have gone through this twice and gave up! I also noticed he was using the wheel diameter instead of the wheel width in the calculator.

Spacers for a too low ET, you need to learn some. Because Ray knows how secret it is I just used it once, dont cry please.

[QUOTE=NOBY;5348516]Spacers for a too low ET, you need to learn some. QUOTE] Funny hearing "you need to learn"...coming from you. You need to learn about ET first, then come back and tell others to learn.

[QUOTE=vwrado;5348539] So how will you fix a wheel with too low ET, that means it sticks out from the fender with spacers, tell me, Im open to learn.

POST 51Original post

You mean to say you don't know "ET" stands for "Extra ********" ?

POST 52Original post

Quotes source post: 5348539

[QUOTE=NOBY;5348647] Ways to fix wheel with too low ET: 1. buy new wheels 2. lift your car and let the wheels stick out 3. buy super narrow tires and let it stretch (euro style seen on vw's) 4. get fender flares these are very simple solutions for a very simple problem.
