Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Before the flaming begins, I did search. I have a 99 with the orange turn signals in the headlight housings. Aside from buying 00 or 01 housings is there a way to change the orange out to clear? I know the corner reflector can be replaced. Thought I read somewhere that it can be done. Thanks

Glenn, I think searching for "amberectomy" will give you the info you need. Yeah, I know, it's an intuitive keyword and all that. Oh wait, you may have different headlights. Well, here's an amberectomy link just in case. http://hverheyen.vssi-eda.com/box_pics/lights/ (I don't think you can perform this on your headlights). -td

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's exactly what I was looking for. Now I just need to get the courage up to start prodding around with a soldering iron on my baby.

POST 4Original post

You won't be able to cut the amber out of the non-Litronic lights because in those lights the orange plastic is at the front of the light.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I see that now that I'm looking at the details more closely. Crap! Hacksaw and super glue? Kidding of course.

As Doug mentioned, be sure you have the amber "inserts" and not the amber headlights themselves. Make sure you have these: image004.jpg And not these: image002.jpg -td

POST 7Original post

I kind of like the 'hidden' amber insert. Gives the car a little soul. I hate the amber glass.
