Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

well I checked the faq and it apears it has no prob with the usb issue and it uses the iso single type as my obd2 one did, the only unresovled issue is how stable it is and if you could access all functions or were some limited or locked out?
Leading evidence: 'Check faq and it apears it has no prob' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I do like the reasonble price and it does appear that you can change dips or whatever probably for the baud issue on the box???

Porsche did the absolute minimum compliance with OBDII - all other codes are proprietary and require the use of Porsche System Tester 2 (PST2) to decode
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Quick question, is there a Porsche specific OBD-II product for Porsche. Prior to the Porsche, I had an Audi and a company Ross-Tech made an OBD tool specific to VW/Audi. While it gave the regular fault codes, it also provided an easy to use Windows interface, provided a brief description of the fault (not just a number) but also allowed you to log engine data while operating your car. Further, it allowed you to clear faults and change certain setting.
I searched the forum, but couldn't find anything on a product like this, just generic OBD tools.
Thanks
CJ
You can get the Porsche System Tester for somthing like $6-7,000...

It is the only interface that will allow for complete acess to all of the data.
I bought the Digimoto kit. It comes with an ElmScan interface and the Digimoto software. I chose it because it comes with the software to connect my PocketPC too. Also because you can get other software that works with the ElmScan interface. I bought it off eBay from Digimoto. $79.
Here is a current auction for one:
OBDII OBD2 ElmScan Scantool + Free Software Package
I was able to turn off the CEL and get other cool info.
EDIT:
I got the ISO kit.
will this interface work with a usb to serial adapter? I know there is an issue of baud xfer etc. I have no serial on my slaptop-. Also how have you liked the product? I had a cable from obdII.com and it caused my comp. to crash multiple time which is not good considering that I have all my law school info on it! thanks let me know. I do like the reasonble price and it does appear that you can change dips or whatever probably for the baud issue on the box???

I bought an inexpensive ODB reader at the local auto store yesterday and it works fine. Found the error messages I needed and then cleared them, which turns off the CEL.

yeah I have used the one that you can "rent" with id costs nothing from autozone. They only allow you to do limited things however and aren't really that great for diagnosis of problems without a cel
