Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

with the drop in 996 prices and with the current state of the economy, do you think this is a good deal? 2004 996 C2 Arctic Silver on Black Bose Not much else.... 47000 miles.... Warranty just expired... $38,000 + tax & lic

POST 2Original post

Yes, I think this is a great deal... prices are really falling.

POST 3Original post

Hey, you're in OC, is the car at a dealer? Sounds good.... Have you contacted www.autohauswest.com? That's where I got mine, and they're in the process of folding their tent. There are deals to be had.... -Dave

Funny you say that.... that's where this car is at... it started at $46K... then dropped to $44K, then to $43K, now I think its listed at $41,990 or something like that... I'm going to offer $38K. Not bad for a 2004 in my opinion...

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Also, I've been seeing 2002 C4Ss in the low 40's... any opinions? 2002 C4S vs. 2004 C2? comparable miles... would you pay $4K more for the C4S even though its 2 years older? THANKS ALL!!!

POST 7Original post

Sounds good to me. Ditto on what Steve said - PPI is a must. I just got a CPO'd C4S at $6K below the CPO'd window sticker, 2 weeks ago.

congrats... do you mind PM'ing me how much you paid? I'd appreciate it...

POST 9Original post

$48.500 for my '03 C4S. Nav, Tech, and CPO. A great time to be able drive one of the best cars in the world.

POST 10Original post

Tips seem to be going for a lot less. I recently had a dealer offer me a 2003 tip w/47k miles in pristine condition w/aero kit for $36,500. That was his first asking price, just couldn't deal with the tip. I just bought an 01 C2 in great shape good options w/39k miles and 2 years/30k left on a good aftermarket warranty for $29,900.

POST 11Original post

Damn, what a difference a year makes! And a recession! I paid $10k more for my '00 C2 last year. Oh well. Wonder if I can sell it to non-Rennlist buyers (ie, buyers that don't know about the 'best' deals out there), then score a C4s for the same money!?

POST 12Original post

Thats a great deal, paid about 5K less for an 02 with similar miles.

POST 13Original post

Wow, prices are still continuing to drop.. It's not just the P-car either. I was stunned when a friend of mine picked up an '06 SL500 early this week for $50k

POST 14Original post

Where are you seeing 02 C4S's for low 40's?? Maybe I'm searching in the wrong place! I figured I could find a decent one for $45K...? I'm taking one for a test drive after work today! Mike

Mike, I haven't been in the market for a C4S since I got mine early Feb., but I was able to negotiate mine (one owner/37k miles/PPI) for a better figure than you've quoted

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 5279357

yes, IMO the C4S is much better. It's well worth the extra $$$

POST 17Original post

With falling prices, another great reason NOT to sell. Prices on these cars should pick up some as summer approaches, but more when the economy picks up. They're not going to appreciate or have collector-car status, but my bet is prices will eventually rebound. As for the C4S, it has many standard features that are optional on the C2/C4 - but it's that wide body that just makes the car, IMO.

POST 18Original post

C4s full leather, wide body = better. C2 light weight = better. I'd gladly take the C4S over the C2 and sacrifice some punch for that look.
