If it's not a blinking CEL, it's probably the mass air flow sensor (MAF).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just picked up my "new" 2000 C2 Cab with 29,8xx miles on it Tuesday afternoon. Driving back home tonite the check engine light came on. WTF Good thing I got that extended warranty I gues. Are there any return policies on used cars in Florida?

POST 2Original post

If it's not a blinking CEL, it's probably the mass air flow sensor (MAF). ~$500 parts & labor I bet.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I called the local Porsche dealership and they said that it's probably the O2 sensor. They asked me if I filled the gas since buying the car and I had. They said maybe I didn't turn the gas cap enough clilcks. I dunno... I could've sworn I heard three clicks. I'm hoping it's just something they need to reset. And yes.. it's a constant yellow check engine light.. not blinking.. They said if it was blinking to stop driving and have it flatbedded in....

POST 5Original post

run away from it! check engine light the first day, thats an omen.

POST 6Original post

Check the Gas cap - I had this happen once - fault code inidcated that the dam cap was loose.

POST 7Original post

These cars have a zillion sensors. My check engine light came on about two weeks ago - and they replaced a sensor under warranty - it was no big deal - Dropped it off at lunch and picked it up at 5:00. The manual and the dealer say you've really got a problem if the light is blinking.

POST 9Original post

If you bought it from a porsche dealer, this will be no problem and as others have indicated it is probably a simply fix. If you bought it from another franchise, you shouldnt have a problem other than the fact that they will be relecant to send it to the porsche dealer for diagnostics. Either way, dont let this spoil the fun!

POST 10Original post

Mine has come on and gone off once I fill the gas tank twice in teh last year...don't worry!
