Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

P-Car Brothers My Black Beauty 03 996 Targa, recently has been making much noise which is coming from the glass panel. I am going to make an appointment; but I was hoping if anyone on the forum (Targa Owners Only) has experienced this type of problem, and if the service resolution was enough to stop the noise. I love the Targa and I have no regrets in buying this baby, the glass panel to me makes the whole Carrera experience that much more enjoyable.

POST 2Original post

Not a targa owner, but i remember hearing about this problem with the new Targas. I believe the solution was some type of lubricant on teh seals, if you run a search im sure you wil find it. BObby

POST 3Original post

Some Targa noises are very difficult to find, and Porsche doesnt make life any easier on the technicians as there is NO technical information on noises from the Targa roof for the 996. When you take the car in make sure you give the service advisor as much information about the noise as you possibly can.
