Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Going on the premises that a dealer won't install something that will void a warranty, a dealer installed my Fabspeed setup.

My dealer also installed all my mods , including a fabspeed kit...definately a dealer to dealer issue.

The PSE can be installed without the switch by yourself.

If you are that worried, you can buy the PSE from Brandywine Porsche for $1600 US(check E-bay as they advertise there).

I don't see any reasonable reason why a muffler change can affect warranty.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

First question for this group...I picked up a 04 C4S a month or so ago (I'll have to post pics, once I figure out how to do so!). So far, I'm having loads of fun...it is my first Porsche, and I must say that it will be hard to go to anything else at this rate.

I do find the exhaust too quiet for my tastes however, and was looking at the PSE and Fabspeed exhausts. Both sound great...the Fabspeed, however, is half the price (and seems to have a bit more aggressive sound), and since I would probably never use the PSE switch, I was considering this exhaust. My dealer states that this may affect the warranty (as in, cause certain items to be not covered). Is this true? Has anyone run into this issue in Canada?
Thanks!
I don't see any reasonable reason why a muffler change can affect warranty. The only possible way that it can if it relates to catalytic emmissions, and that is even stretching it. If you are that worried, you can buy the PSE from Brandywine Porsche for $1600 US(check E-bay as they advertise there). The PSE can be installed without the switch by yourself. The job takes about an hour or even your local muffler shop can do it for very few bucks, as its all bolt on. If the dollar is a concern I have the GHL and there are no effects. Many on this board can tell you that a muffler change will never effect the car.
Going on the premises that a dealer won't install something that will void a warranty, a dealer installed my Fabspeed setup. I think it varies by dealer.
My dealer also installed all my mods , including a fabspeed kit...definately a dealer to dealer issue. Just ask the service manager what his stand is. It only makes the car sound better.....much better
Just spoke to the service dept...they definitely don't want to install this, and brought up the warranty issue. I don't understand why, but I may end up going with the PSE.

you did answer your worry by yourshelf...you will be installing the PSE in the end...
that is why...
In the US and I'm certain Canada is no different, if the aftermarket part caused the failure of the factory part. For example, an aftermarket turbo causes detonation and holes a piston. The piston would not be covered by the factory warranty. In the US this is well defined by the Magnuson-Moss Act and would only an issue if it was difficult to determine what caused the failure. It would be difficult for an aftermarket exhaust to cause that kind of failure. Could it happen, maybe, but not likely. Now it could be that the dealer doesn't want to get involved in an aftermarket installation, but that's a slightly different discussion. Enjoy the exhaust.
