Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
some people have been screwed over by their waranty expiriing over this 'wait and see' period, and then the dealer not honoring the repair under warnarty.
Leading evidence: 'Repair under warnarty' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair under warnarty' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone ever had this happen? I was cruising at freeway speed (~70 mph) when I saw the light flicker on for just a sec. Engine hesitated as well. Drove the rest of the way to work and back with no incidents.
Did a search, and only found discussion of CEL turning on and staying.
Any ideas? Thanks!
My CEL turned on steady today, so I read the manual.
It says that if it glows steady, no worries, just see service sometime soon.
But if it flashes on and off (different than your single blink) you have big problems and should stop driving.
As I understand the CEL is mainly an indication of the emissions sensors picking up something unusual, like a fouled MAF.
I had an MR2 Spyder that the dealer badly overfilled with oil. As soon as I went above 4,000 rpm it started blowing smoke, the engine hesitated and the CEL flickered. It went away after I slowed down. That would indicate that the comment about the CEL being triggered by the emissions sensor makes sense maybe you had a little soot that temporarily messed with the sensor.

COULD HAVE BEEN A MISFIRE(INTERMITTENT).WHEN YOUR CEL FLASHES IT MEANS THERE IS SOMETHING HAPPENING THAT CAN CAYSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE OR EMMISSIONS EQUIPTMENT.
Update. Just closing the loop for future reference.
Finally got to the dealer today (about 800 miles later). No fault code in memory. They said the CEL can flicker on if there's a misfire - something about sensing an unexpected change in engine speed at the flywheel. They weren't sure what caused it (bad gas?), but said that since it didn't happen again not to worry about it -- if something were really wrong, the computer would have registerd a fault code.
On a separate note, they saw some seepage by the RMS. Not clear if it's a leak or some residual from when they fixed the RMS a year ago. They cleaned it off and want me to bring it in for a recheck in a few months (before the warranty expires). Let's hope...
get it in writing that they found some issues iwth the RMS and that they wanted you to wait awhile before diagnosing it and properly checking it
