Suggestion

I don't think that Prosche designed the 996 platform with 1/4 mile times in mind - Not to mention I think the times may not be that impressive - on the other hand I took my wifes CLK55 ///AMG to the track three time to dog the hell out of that engine - I was avg - high 13" and my last run I was able to get a 13.2.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone has a time slip of their Porsche and if they have gone to the track with it ? Just looking for a time slip to see what people run and thier car ! ! !

POST 2Original post

you mean, like, the 1/4 mile ???? i generally find driving in a straight line to be boring... t

POST 3Original post

POST 4Original post

I wouldn'y think of ******* my baby to get a good 1/4 mile time - I don't think that Prosche designed the 996 platform with 1/4 mile times in mind - Not to mention I think the times may not be that impressive - on the other hand I took my wifes CLK55 ///AMG to the track three time to dog the hell out of that engine - I was avg - high 13" and my last run I was able to get a 13.2. - just my two cents - keep the change...

POST 5Original post

In reviewing my old Car & Driver the other night they had a review on the then "new" 02 C2 which did a 0-60 in 4.8 and 1/4 in 13.4....But I agree, why "beat" your car in a straight line! In yet another issue on their "Long-term-test" the car got faster, and braked better after 40k miles!....good things to look forward to.... There is NO substitute!

POST 6Original post

Not my times, but I recently asked a similar question and the most intelligent response was a 99 C2 running ~13.0 Straight line acceleration questions will get you flamed all day long on this board... so beware... I agree with the comments that this is more of a track car than a drag car, but most of us spend the day driving in straight lines...
