Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Porsches can be ordered with the rear designator (and/or the front badge) deleted, or those items can obviously be removed/replaced by owners.......

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My friend has a 996 that's 4wd. It only says 911 on the tail. I thought all 911's that were 4wd were badged Carrera 4 or Carrera 4S on the tail. What's going on here?!?! It does say on the dash "Ltd Edition - 808". A little help please.
Cheers!

"watch your language and do a bit more research before you troll out to rennlist."
Uhhhh....you're joking right? Trolling? Pffffffttt. 98 posts and I'm still a troll? Whatever. Thanks for the "helpful" post.
"Porsches can be ordered with the rear designator (and/or the front badge) deleted, or those items can obviously be removed/replaced by owners......."
Thank you. Must have had the Carrera 4 script deleted. Thank you for the help. Now I don't have to eat my hat.
Cheers!

actually the front badge cannot be deleted.
he likely ordered it deleted from the factory, or it may have partially broken off (happens all the time) and he decided to replace it with something else.
You mentioned

I'm intrigued by this.... Are you absolutely certain it is a 4wd? Is the car silver? Is it an '04 model? Does it look like my car's picture on the left?
I'm just asking this because it could potentially be a 40th Anniversary model being mistaken for some sort of Carrera 4 variant. The 40th has a "911" badge on the rear but it is not a 4wd.
Look under the hood of the car where the trunk is. If you see a black bubble right next to where the cd player is, you have awd. I belive that is the front differential access. C2's have much larger storage space in the fron than the c4. I don't have a pic. BTW, although mild swearing is tolerable, i wouldn't put them in the title. I see that enough on "other" car forums. No biggie.

Not always true. GT3 uses the C4 chassis and it's rwd.
Yes, they are 4WD, all leather interior, sun roof, nav system, rear wiper, etc, etc. It doesn't have foot lighting and auto wipers. Either tranny.
Nice car. I really like mine.
If you mean "natural leather" like a caramel color yes. And the color is a a dark greyish purple metallic and has chrome turbo twist rims. Hmmmmm sounds like the same car. And yes it is DEFINATELY 4wd....it's up on a hoist at my friends home shop. And yes it has the black plastic bubble beside the CD changer. Sounds like the mystery is solved!! Thanks guys and gals!!
Cheers!

This is EXACTLY what it looks like. Same wood trim and all. Thank you again to all that helped.
