It took a while to get the insurance company to get real regarding the repair costs to fix the car right.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This may be my first post, long time lurker...
As the title states... any really good body shops in Sacramento/Folsom area you would highly recommend? Our 2001 996 Gemballa Conversion was backed into yesterday. It pushed in the rear fender right right in front of the wheel about 1 inch. Also impacted the inner fender a bit.
I hate bondo... the repair needs to be 100%. Got any guesses on how it needs to be repaired? Pull and work the metal straight, or new quarter?
David
David, sorry to hear about the damage to your car. Brian Moore Restoration does incredible work. If you are familiar with the Serrano Concourse (sp?), he is the sponsor. He has done several cars that have been in Pebbble Beach. He is located in the Gold River area of Rancho Cordova. His phone number is [phone removed]. I can't recommend him highly enough. His prices are surprisingly reasonable.

I know it sounds crazy, but you might want to let one of those paintless dent removal places give it a try. For $100-200, you might just get lucky. The only problem is if you have any real sharp creases, it can craze the paint a little along the crease line(s), trapped under the clear coat. Kinda hard to tell from the pic.
+1 on using a "paintless dent dude" The dealer dented my car when they were aligning it and they had a guy pull the dent out. He did an excellent job. Here is a link to some pics of the dent.
Dents in car.
My paintless dent guy is Scott Jones. His business is Dent Dynamics [phone removed]. He has worked miracles on several of my cars. He will come to your house and his prices are very reasonable. Good luck.
Thanks for the tip on the paintless dent guys. The pic doesnt show it well, but its pushed in approx 1 inch and there are cracks in the paint so it will need to be sprayed... Its pretty bad. I'm looking for that kind of skill to remove dents without needing bondo or more than a light skim for the fix. If your guys do both let me know. I'll make note of these guys for future reference, very useful!
Appreciate the assitance, and please keep the referals coming.
David
David, Brian Moore can take care of it. I had him repair a large rock chip on my previous 996. He repainted my hood in Vesuvio metallic. I was told by several shops that it was a difficult color to match. It looked perfect after he was done. When I'm ready to install my aero kit, I will have him do the paint.
Fabrication Specialist. $$$,but everyone around Sac mentions them as 1st-rate work.

Does this picture really count for a first time poster? His post has a picture, granted, but it is not in the spirit of the initiation.
He may get by on a technicality, but the picture police are slipping.
Ooops
My humble apologies.
Is this better?

I was going to do an intro soon... should have done that first
David
Just an update on this. We dropped off the car at Brian Moores shop today. He will have it for a couple weeks. It took a while to get the insurance company to get real regarding the repair costs to fix the car right. Brian's estimate was $3400 and the insurance company figured $2500 should do it.
Thanks again for the referal! My wife and I really appreciate it...
David
David, you won't regret going to Brian. He will have your car looking like new again. I went through the same thing with my insurance. They wouldn't pay what Brian charged to repaint the hood on my vesuvio metallic 996. Brian's price was about 1/3 less than their approved shop's estimate (Cook's Collision). I changed insurance over that claim.
If you think of it, please say "hi" to Brian for me. I can't wait to take my current car to him to have my aero kit installed. Good luck and thanks for the update.
Blinkwatt, Brian Moore Restoration is over in the Gold River area off Sunrise. Here is a link to the car show that he sponsors every year. It is Sacramento's version of Pebble Beach. He does the paint & body work on many of the cars that compete in this show and Pebble Beach. Surprisingly, his prices are reasonable.

Hey Chuck, how are you? Hey, if the need arises, the offer still stands to do a 'work on cars day' up at our our house in El Dorado(remember you came up a few months ago?)
David
DAVID: Good to hear from you. We've had a couple small Work on Cars Days put on by Loren (RennTech)...but not enough folks to ask you to play host so that we could use the lift. I have spoken to Loren and we want to organize one before summer hits. (sorry for the brief hijack) Thanx for renewing your kind offer.
David, I saw Brian Moore today and he told me that he had repaired your TT. Are you happy with the work? I hope so. I'm going to have him paint my aerokit & respray my hood due to rock chips.
