I drove a "brand-new" 04 C4S (200mi) which felt "smoother" than my 03 (couple nicer options as well), Dealer offered to run some numbers to do a trade.

Just curious if anyone knows if there are any dealer deals going right now? How much off sticker on a 04 could I realistically ask...and get!

I prefer my Seal-Gray, over the Silver (too many Silver Porsches IMHO)...BUT Wouldn't stop me from owning one if the price was right

I'm the last person who should say this (see signature below), but why would you make this trade? Just doesn't seem to make sense, you even like your current color better. Its the same car, and if the 04 seems smoother its probably only because its new and not broken in. No offense intended, just my $.02.
What I meant by smoother is the handling and ride. I bought my 03 used, and it has always felt a little harse, and remember I came from the Vette club...I know what harse is
BUT my last Z06 was a smoother driving car, which has bothered me about the C4S.
I saw the 04 on the lot, and took it for a comparison spin to see if it was the same as my 03, and just the way Porsches are. I came away feeling like something may be wrong with my 03... or rather definetly different, but definetly not a "tight".
This dealer kind-of owes me a good deal (ya...we'll see!), and I was just curious if they were really gonna deliver, after all it's a year old now.
Either way, I think I will have them go through mine to see if everything is OK.
When I bought it I ran a Carfax, etc. and everything seems in order, so maybe it's just is the way it is. Still love it though!

interesting post. i just traded my 03 4s coupe in on an 04 c4s cab (had a cayenne in between for a very short period). i felt the same way about the 04ride. car felt stiffer and more solid. also, even though the car is heavier, it really felt like it accelerated quicker. i am pretty sure it is not in my mind :-)

1st-smj, I too don't think it's in my head, 04 feels tighter and more refined.
Trovan, nope, not my post...If I sell, it will be an trade (not married, so no "Must sell" here!).
Jcnesq....hummm, if it wasn't for all the rain up here in the NW, I just might go that route, but the all-wheel-drive is my prefered Porsche right now...If I keep mine (which I most likely will) I will have them go over the car, and have them drive both.
And Moogle...100% right, that's why I would expect a GREAT deal! (But it is damn close to being new!)

Don't feel so bad, I just traded an 04 C4S in for an 04 GT3. For me, it wasn't about the "deal of the century" but after a track day in the GT3 is was well worth the price of admission. Happiness is priceless.

just offered to take my 03 in trade for the aforementioned 04...for a mere 25k!
What an ***...%&%*&$...these guys just make me wanna puke sometimes!
Needless to say, I decided to keep my 03. 25k for the same bloody car...jeez.
Anyway, I will have the mechanic go through mine just to verify everything is cool...I'll let you all know if they find anything...
Next Porsche will be coming from a different Dealership!
