For track use, I ran 1 rear, 2 or 3 front, good balance with a slight tendancy for oversteer.
Leading evidence: 'Run 1 rear, 2 or 3 front, good balance' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run 1' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I run 1 from soft f r before it was 1 from firm f r and it was rediculous the car would jump in a corner over bumps.

Suggestion
I've been running 1r / 2f on the street for a while now (never got around to changing it back after the last auto-x).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all,
I have a '01 911 C2 and I just bought the Bilstenin PSS9 kit.
Can somebody please provide some feedback on street settings? I consider myself a driver above all ( hence the car I drive
) and I really do not care if the ride is stiffer as long as I gain on the handling side (screw my friends, if they do no like the ride, they can ride their on cars
).
Any rebound/compression height suggestions based on what has worked for you?
Thanks in advance!
smdb,
I've got PSS9s on my 993. I can only assume the ones on your 996 are same/similar in body design with the 993 PSS9 --i.e 9 positions (9=soft/1=stiff). I've found that for the street, 6f/5r or 5f/4r is firm, but tolerable. Some go even stiffer, but I didn't like it on the street stiffer than that....your roads may vary. Settings 8-9 too underdamped/oversprung, IMHO.
Height is totally up to you. Some like it down to the modest RoW height, while others drop down to RS height. It really depends on you and your driving habits. My 993 is a daily driver and is just a bit higher than RS; I have no problems with scraping, but I also am aware of every driveway I take and plan accordingly.
BTW, given that your car is a 996, you might get more feedback on the 996 board. Hope this helps
Edward

Good luck !
For track use, I ran 1 rear, 2 or 3 front, good balance with a slight tendancy for oversteer. For street use I ran 3 rear, 4 front, gave a good ride while maintaining a similar balance. I had the install complete in day and then another day for alignment. LOL
Wow... I've been running 1r / 2f on the street for a while now (never got around to changing it back after the last auto-x). It's a little bumpy...
The girlfriend doesn't complain though.... a testament to how cool she is!

I run 4f 3r. I also have the gt3 bars so I can't really chime in on the stiffness as the bars really stiffen the suspension much greater than the shock settings. I run 1 from soft f r before it was 1 from firm f r and it was rediculous the car would jump in a corner over bumps.
Hello all,
Great feedback, THANKS!
My dealer will install the Bilsteins and then they will take it to a specialized shop for the corner balance. Two days total... ouch!
So, please do tell about the GT3 sway bars. Are these the bars that come with the GT3 or is it the name of it?
With everything stock on my car, it tends understeer a lot. Before my 911 I had a STi 05 (yeah, it was shortlived after I attended PDE in Alabama) and an Evo 01. I realize that it might also be the tires since the ones I had on my other cars where grippier and these Michellin PS Rib, but there is this tight corner that I was able to take at ridicolus speeds on the STi and Evo with little to no understeer (more on the STi than on the Evo) and I just can't quite get to the same speeds with no understeer.
So, my master plan (please feel free to train me here) is that, after I put the Bilstein I go for adjustable sway bars, hope that this will help with the understeer and match or surpass the STi and Evo.
So, which sway bars should I get?
Comments?
Thanks a bunch!
Don't over do the sways because a car will handle best when it's actually a bit loose. Also it makes the ride like ****. I am actually running full soft f now and 1 from soft rear. Best compromise right now with 4/3
