Hi all: I took my 01 tt in for a bunch of little stuff last monday -- got it back yesterday. They replaced the radio because the original one was doing strange things - in addition to being a pos. I always noticed that the front speakers were louder when the unit was centered front to back. I would just set the unit to favor the rear speakers to equal it out. I notice it even more with this new unit. I am thinking that the amp could be bad as well. I would think that the front dash and rear side speakers should be at the same volume with the door speakers filling in the base -- Is this not correct way the hi fi unit should operate? I also had them fix the left rear wheel -- I hit a curb TWICE -- I do not know how they do it but for $80.00 the thing is perfect!

What was wrong with your unit? Mine works OK for the most part but has an occasional 'dropout' where it will skip go dead for about 1/4 second (happens about every 30 mins). I have had two instances where it simply would not play at all but that seems to have stopped now. Sound familiar? Barry

The majority of the sound is supposed to come from the front speakers. The rear speakers are just for fill and are not normally heard.

The unit was poor in holding onto FM stations -- I was told that they are all quite bad. They really changed the unit because I told them that it would not turn on at times. I would have to turn off the key and then turn it back on. The new unit is much better than the old unit in all areas -- It also looks a little different than the original one? -- same model as before -- the paperwork said 'rebuilt'.
