This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
If it was used/wrecked, ect., they probably could've picked one up for around 5k, and they put about 3k in mods (assuming they did all the work themselves) to have some fun with it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Why buy it? Well I guess you can find easier parking here in Europe and get over 40mpg. Why modify it is the better question, maybe too much time or money, but my bet is a little of both.
It's fun and it's fantastic. This way, you can drive your Porsche in the city without fear of never finding a parking space. Heck, you could probably take it into the restaurant with you....or use it as as shopping cart at Costco.
I think it's a modified smart - hence, the sm in smorsche (though they mispelled it). If it was used/wrecked, ect., they probably could've picked one up for around 5k, and they put about 3k in mods (assuming they did all the work themselves) to have some fun with it. And I bet it gets smiles wherever it goes.
I love it. I had been trying to get a Smart here in the US since I first saw them in Paris 2001. I had deposits on conversions, etc but it never happened. I hear they will be shipping the ForTwo next year but at $17k for a cabrio (gotta be a ragtop), it's an expensive toy just to go downhill occasionally on a Saturday. When I saw them in Paris and Stuttgart, they were about $10 for a cabrio. FWIW Smart is a joint venture of Mercedes Benz and Swatch Watch Co.
