Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went out for Chinese a couple of days ago and when I got into the car I pushed the clutch in and started it up. Then all of a sudden the clutch went to the floor and the car hopped. I pulled the clutch pedal back and then pressed again. All I heard was this cat hissing from under the car. Did it a couple of more times and then realized it was a hydraulic line. I ended up having it towed, when it was on the trailer I snapped a couple of photos. You can see where a rock hit the line. I knew when it happened a couple of weeks ago ( I heard a big whack while driving), I guess the line just couldn't take it ant longer. $825.00. Photo's will follow. Trying to get the dealer to lend me a Cayman to try out. He said one might be coming in today and he'd call.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah I know, but it's the three hours of labor. Pics included.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

And she looks so innocent just sitting there. Without anyone knowing the loss.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, I was hoping to get a Cayman to test drive. Last month I was at the chevy dealership for the company truck. I asked for a Z06 loaner and they said they stopped that yeaterday....Damn it.

POST 8Original post

To replace that part of the link in the line is no more than a hour job. I think you are being ripped off. There are 3 seperate links to make replacement easier.

POST 9Original post

Did they hold a gun to your head? If my dealer told me $200, I would have thought they were making an unreasonable profit at my expense. I haven't looked under the car but I replace hydraulic lines and bleed systems all the time. An industrial hose supply could most likely repair or make a replacement hose for a few dollars, an hour + or -, and a little fluid. Not trying to be critical here by any means, I all too well understand sometimes being in that unfortunate position, but Porsche must think all owners are CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.

POST 10Original post

Few years ago a guy on renntech did it with a jack. I seem to remember he replaced it himself.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know it's hard to swallow. I got the phone call telling me what needed to be done. I look into it more today. Unfortunately, time is money and I'm short on time. I think the towing was part of the package too. I'll know more later.
