Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My rear quarter window rolls all the way up, then goes back down halfway. If I keep trying, it eventually stays rolled up. Any ideas?

POST 3Original post

Do you have the hardtop on? It might be getting caught on the frame of the top.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No, I have the soft top. But now that you mention it, there is a rubber piece on the soft top that the window slides along that is torn slightly. But it does not appear upon initial observation that this piece is obstructing the window. Stealership said it could be the regulator. $1900 parts/labor HAHAHAH!! I nearly fell out my chair.

POST 5Original post

hehehe....I just fell out of my chair reading that myself! Not sure if the regulator is an all or none type of device that once it goes, the window goes completely or if you could suffer from partial operation like yours. Make sure that there is absolutely NOTHING keeping it from going up. See if you can "help" it up when raising it to see if you feel any resistance on anything. Short of that, I would troubleshoot a bit more and then seek the help of an indy that will charge nowhere close to 2K! I know there is a pretty good DIY write-up over on Renntech regarding the regulator replacement in the door. You might want to check if there is one for the rear window. The part can't be more than a couple hundred benjamins.

POST 6Original post

you know.... that happened to my cab.... and about another 2 weeks later i had to replace it.......luckily for me, the place i bought my porsche took care of the bill....... man........ too much ac is NOT good.....

POST 8Original post

yup.... it was the regulator.... they play tricks on you..... it'll work then it won't then all of it sudden, it seemed fine until one day, i dropped the window, and it never came back up..........*what ever noise homer simpson makes while slapping his forehead*

POST 11Original post

regulator could casue that, it is a one piece unit with the motor its about 700$ iirc, labor should be about 2-3 hours
