Do wheel repair specialist repair this type of damage?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a set of 18" sport design wheels. I went in to a local tire store for a simple front balance over the weekend. When I picked the car up I was told they had to rotate the tires on the rims to get them to balance properly. At the time I din't think too much of it. When I got home I took a good look at the rims. They now have bad scraps and scratches on them. They even bent the outer edge of one of the rims with some tool. I immediately called the manager. He has offered to have them repaired by a specialist.
Here's where I need your help? Do wheel repair specialist repair this type of damage? The rims were virtually perfect and I want them back that way. Can a specialist do it? If the consensus is "NO" then I'm just going to request new ones.
Thanks!!
Pat
I had one of my wheels on my E55 damaged by a car wash. They offered to have it refinished, but I told them, no, I didn't want a refinished wheel, I wanted a new, perfect one, like it was before they damaged it. To their credit, they paid for a replacement.
The good thing is that they acknowledged that they damaged them and offered to repair them. It's all up to you how you would like it handled, these wheel refinishers are really good and they often can get them to look as good as new. But if you're not going to be happy because you know they have been refinished, demand replacements.
Good luck.
FWIW a good wheel repair place will make mangled wheels look like new. This works really well on higher quality wheels. My regular car has 4 wheels which were repaired. Dents caused by the mother of all pot holes. Came back looking like new. Still it is very classy that they will replace them. Would they give you the 'old' ones back? BBS will repair them for you but it takes a while.
