Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Right when I was about to loose my mind I noticed a spacer that was on my old alternator shaft, that when removed and installed on the new alternator, lined up the pulleys.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 2Original post

Just lurking from the 993 list, BUT when I did the alt on my old 964 I thought the same thing. Right when I was about to loose my mind I noticed a spacer that was on my old alternator shaft, that when removed and installed on the new alternator, lined up the pulleys. Can't hurt to take a real good look on the old one, also the brackets, and wipe everything down. My spacer was caked with grime and blended right in with the surroundings.
