Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sound at all familiar to anyone? I see no blown fuses on the main panel (driver footwell) but last night I limped home (in the dark) with no headlights or fog lights. Running lights work fine as do turn & brake. Also.............no AC......no 'star' indicator on dash when AC engaged........no circulation fan for AC or air........and the display for fan speed does some 'interesting' things. It may be just my imagination but the ignition switch seems to have a different 'feel' when turning or releasing key......trying to remember yrs ago when I had an ignition switch issue on the Box. Anyway.........any thoughts or ideas much appreciated..........thanks guys.

POST 2Original post

Perhaps you have a bad ignition switch? Check out http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=493 I bought a replacement from an audi dealership and replaced it myself in 30 minutes. Good luck.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks.........some of that sounds familiar. Appears I'm looking for an Audi switch # 4A0 905 849 B*

POST 4Original post

Yep the Audi part is the way to go - it fixes the problem at a pretty minimal cost. Chris.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Follow-up.........project is done.......bought Audi switch local for $37.......have another $17. eBay one coming as a spare for next car that goes. 30 minute project if you're good at crawling under your dash, following instuctions, and having the 'Tool Pants tool' ready.

POST 7Original post

Glad you got that worked out. BTW, I thought you had to be a REAL troll to be able to crawl under a dash.
