Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Without the 3rd radiator, the fans provide additional cooling up to 70 mph (depending on bumper used).

Leading evidence: 'Use )' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use )' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yesterday I took my car up to mulholland. It was about 110 degrees. I was on an uphill section and noticed that I was up to about 250 degrees. So I put the heat and and drove a bit easier until it cooled down. Is this normal for a 1999 c2? Is there aything I need to do to fix this? I plan on going to the track next month and the temps there are just as hot.

POST 2Original post

Search here for my fan mod which allows you to keep the radiator fans on ful all the time. Your coolant temps will stay around 200F. Bumper design and small radiators do not allow for adequate cooling at speeds less than 70 mph.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I did a search and found it very infomative, but does anybody have pictures of this at all?

POST 4Original post

No pics, but if you want to test it out before installing, simply jump the 2 high speed fan relays so they are on all the time. Watch how low your around town and hard driving coollant temps will be.

POST 5Original post

You also may consider installing a 3rd radiator, but if your car is a Tip it will already have a 3rd radiator to cool the tranny.

POST 6Original post

Once the engine is warmed up, all the 3rd radiator does is lower the speed at which the fan's become unecessary. Without the 3rd radiator, the fans provide additional cooling up to 70 mph (depending on bumper used). The 3rd radiator begins cooling at the same rate as the fans at about 55 mph.
