Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

My brother and I looked at a 2001 C2 M6 today. The car is nearly flawless. A scratch on the trunk under the spoiler about two inches long and two dings. The car has 23k miles. The owner told us PCNA replaced the whole motor about 10k miles ago because of an oil leak. Anyone hear of this? Is this a RMS issue? Here are the option codes 139 Seat Heating - Left 236 =? 286 High intensity windscreen washer 288 Headlight washer 340 Seat heating Right 375 Clutch lining without asbestos 376=? 378 Combination seat, right, adjustable 413 18 Inch Turbo Look Alloy Wheels 424 Automatic heating control 438 Comfort seat right 446 Wheel Caps with coloured Porsche crest 18 inch wheels only 476 Brake pad with abrasive pad 490 Hi-Fi sound system 601/801? 659 Onboard computer Carrera 2 696 AM/FM Radio with CD OR 596 Spoiler painted matte black 983 Leather seats front and rear So, how low do you think we can get if for?

Tom - code 601 is Litronic Headlights (non turbo)

POST 3Original post

Tom, You may want to pick up Septembers EXCELLENCE which has the 996 market update. They have the 2001 C2 listed as 29532 (low) and 44950 (high). The engine replacement is PCNA addressing the RMS issue. I would see if you can get all service records pulled via a dealer. http://www.excellence-mag.com/

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the car in question is black/gray and is very clean and has the lower part of the aero kit. seller wants 40 i offered 35. it has new michelins, black brakes. my brother was looking for a 99 with relatively low miles for the magic 30k mark. It will be his daily driver so the 99-01 wont make much of a difference to him since he racks up the miles.

Tom, Whatever avenue you decide to go make sure you have a PPI performed prior to pulling the trigger.
