This is not a probability of success.

I only had to replace the forward one on my MY99 and choose to keep the other one.

In fact, I have been contemplating changing the gauge faces and installing decor rings.

If you are looking to replace those with the four cd storage tray, I just removed the one out of my car and will sell for a reasonable price.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Okay the modifying madness has to stop now!
Red Calipers, fabspeed "cold" air intake, black dash horse shoe, black instrument cover (above the meters!?), black middle console, alu rings on dash, alu cover for warning light, alu pedals, carbon fiber door sills, floor mats, carbon fiber shifter and handbrake, bell tronix radar, garmin Nuvi navigation, XM pioneer radio and this all in the last 2 weeks...maybe I should get a job..to keep me busy and take my mind of the P...I am offically obsessed....next project lowering the P and sport exhaust.....any other suggestions??
okay how did this Yellow thing get into my post??? I meant to upload my interior!!
Well here it is...about the lambo...lucky benefits of being a photographer..besides shooting nice looking ladies, once in a while I get the change shooting a nice looking sportcar and drive it a little! Like the Lambo a lot, but wouldn't trade it for a P..doesn't make sense..but if I traded it..i would sell it and buy the new 911 997 turbo!!!
I wish I had the silver one. Also I'm interested to hear if the Al warning light "thing" actually lined up correctly. I tried that mod and it was awful...could not get it to fit right and show the idiot lights properly...worst mod ever!
the warning light mod..took about 2 secs....fits perfect.
I love the silver crest..didn't even know it was available till I bought it....I was thinking about a silver crest on the hood, but my weelcaps are also colored...so I am going to keep the synergy on the outsite....
The wheel is not standard ( I had a 4 spoke, which I hated!)
And yes tip tronic....snif snifffff..one of the compromisses one make when married....wife can't drive stick....I am European and grew up driving stick (and loving it)...but the tip work okay....wouldn't say great but it works for now...when I buy my next P...will keep this one for my wife and buy a stick for myself.
i like the silver wheel crest, especially with the cf trim....does anyone know where to get one that fits the 996's?? bought one on ebay, nice product but it is a hair to large to fit flush in the 996 wheel recess.
I bought the pedals on Ebay...canadian seller...very fast shipper!! they are a bit of a pain...the break pedal holes are very close (toooo close) to the edge of the original pedals and the dead pedal bottom 2 screws are exactly where the cut outs are in the floor....so no connections points....I just screwed them right thru the plastic pedal..... you need a good drill bit for the break pedal.
I noticed that you still have the cassette storage trays in the center console. If you are looking to replace those with the four cd storage tray, I just removed the one out of my car and will sell for a reasonable price.
There is a DIY on renntech on exchanging the levers. The current levers are modified and differ only very slightly from the old ones (colorwise). I only had to replace the forward one on my MY99 and choose to keep the other one. So far nobody has ever noticed that they are from different series.
Thorsten
don't know where I bought it from......bought it online....renn..something, they also sell pedals and other interior p-parts
comes with 3m tape attached....very easy install...fits like a glove
Hey Nicolaas, I just switched my hood crest to the silver and loved it so much that it is worth switching the wheel centers. That is next weeks' gig for me. With that, I will only have silver, black and red accents on my exterior. It looks sweeet!
Unfortunately, the interior wheel still has the colored crest in the air bag. Someday when I can justify the expense I will change that too.
Cool, thanks!
Now, do you thank that if you were to remove it that the adhasive is the kind that would mar or damage the original finish, or is it just regular tape glue?
it is just tape....but I would never want to remove it...it just looks so much more finished with it and the alu gaug rings....
i think that when you heat it up with a blow dryer it will come right off....but I also think you won't be able to use it after..because it will get warped taking it off
Okay, sounds good. I really like the look of your photo - you did a nice job, although, I was just wondering how easy it was to reverse if I got bored of it.
In fact, I have been contemplating changing the gauge faces and installing decor rings. Yor variant looks so good that I tthink I'll skip the hassles of doing the gauge faces and follow your lead.
Thanks for your insight!
I have been thinking the same....but now with the rings and "warning ligth cover plate" it looks so good that anything else would be overkill!!
And you won't get bored of it...because it doesn't look like a add on...but it looks like it original....and seeing a P dash without it makes it look boring and unfinished! I have got it in my P for about 10 months and still love the look.....and believe me I hate stuff that looks to flashy or out of place!!
You nailed part of my worry is that it might look like an add-on.
I agree that the interior needs a few subtle dress-up touches, but you don't want to spoil the German simplicity of dress it up like a high schooler pimpin' his ride.
I'll give it a shot and see how it looks.
Thanks!
