Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Great car and use the wife's Audi wagon for anything that needs cargo.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My question is: why wouldn't you use it daily? Great handling, excellent brakes, small enough to scoot in and out of traffic and WAY better fuel economy than the average grocery-getter SUV. So my answer is: I use mine everyday rain or shine.

). But we don't get any snow here, so ...
Yep, every day. About 12,000 miles each year.
With aggressive camber and toe-in the tire wear can get expensive but it gets good in-town mileage (18 or so) and very good interstate mileage (maybe 26-27).
I didn't buy the car to preserve it for the next owner so why not drive it everyday?
I got rid of my Lexus GS400 and my 993 and replaced them with a C4 996. I drive it every day; rain, snow, hot, cold, and could not be happier.
This car does it all, and it is always a treat to drive.
Real A/C, real heating, decent gas mileage and drives stable rain or shine (psm not necessry). There is no reason not to drive it daily unless you choose not to. Most of the owners I know drive their cars daily.
I also drive my C2 daily, rain or shine. I don't drive it when it snows though, and I'd probably drive a different car in the winter if it snowed regularly around here (I don't like the idea of salt spray getting all over the car and I don't have winter tires).
I drive my 4S year round. I think the 911 is a great daily driver: it's a blast to drive (absolute permagrin since day 1), the ride isn't too harsh (it handles Boston roads just fine,...which are generally terrible), and it's fairly luxurious!
There have been many polls on Rennlist about winter driving and the overwhleming verdict is that if it snows where you live, you must invest in winter tires/wheels. I do mainly city driving so the roads are cleared pretty quickly,...you wouldn't want to take it out in anything 'deep.'
My '02 C2 is my daily driver, racking up ~1500-2000 miles per month. It's not the cheapest daily driver, but probably cheaper than keeping it as a garage queen and owning a second car for commuting (if anybody wants to dispute that rationalisation, I don't want to know
)
I may be moving to IL later this year, and I think I'll still use it daily with a decent set of snow tyres for winter.
Edited to add: DD eats Pirelli tyres, so I'll be slapping a pair of PS2s on the back after I wipe the remaining tread off the rear Pirellis tomorrow at Willow Springs.
1999 C2 with 65,000 miles on it driven daily rain, shine, snow, or whatever on a long commute. With snow tires no problem except in the really deep stuff when nothing moves anyway.
I drive my '02 C2 every day. With proper snow tires (and PSM) it is a tractor in the snow! AWD is absolutely unnecessary. Save the added expense to buy and maintain AWD and buy some real snow tires. With the money you have left over you can buy some awesome 19" wheels and tires for summer.
I'm a daily driver too. I drive my C4S to work, to the grocery store (where it holds a week's worth of groceries for two), on vacation, etc. Plus I autocross it and I've just done my first track day. It's a fantastic car.
Daily Driver including BUS duty by carrying both my kids to school, child seats and all. Save on gas too, even with premium my gas bill is cut by 30% from my full size RAM1500, my only other vehicle.
