Suggestion
Not only do the touch-free ones tend to sandblast things, but they also run a mixture of acids and bases to clean without damaging paint, and if that mixture is slightly off you have a ph that is very bad for your paint.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Did that mistake once as I wanted to wash off road salt and snow grime.
Never ever again even if it means hand rinsing/washing the car in close to freezing temps (which I have done a couple of times this past winter). If you really care about your car, hand wash it. There's enough info on this board about how to do it correctly and with great results.
If you do not mind swirl marks then by all means do it. Just get them buffed out when you sell it. Most of the guys here are tormented by microscopic contaminents that they eye can not see and the vote will be a resounding no
There are a couple of different kinds of "automatic" car washes...some are touch free where others aren't. For the ones that aren't, they will of course pick up dirt on the cleaning "elements" and scratch your car. For the ones that are, they typically use recycled water and micro-sandblast your car. I personally don't trust anyone except a pro detailer to touch my car!
Not only do the touch-free ones tend to sandblast things, but they also run a mixture of acids and bases to clean without damaging paint, and if that mixture is slightly off you have a ph that is very bad for your paint. Just get out there and wash the car by hand, or pay some neighborhood kid a few bucks to do it if you're too lazy.
