Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have a 2001 C4 with the GT3 aerokit in lapis blue on sport design 18s, I have retro fitted the cruise and OBC onto it.
Leading evidence: 'Install cruise and obc onto it' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'combination of the amp and speaker size' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install cruise and obc onto it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I successfully changed the dash speakers to Audiobahn AS64PQ.

For what it is worth, the shop told me that they used resisters when installing the speakers to get the speakers to work with a MOST system.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
My C4 has the bog standard stereo set up, although it does have the Becker sat Nav head unit.
I successfully changed the dash speakers to Audiobahn AS64PQ. Which are plate speakers that allow the necessary cutting to fit it to Porsche tear drop shaped hole. The problem with these speakers is that they are quiet, even compared to the original paper speakers in the back.
Do you guys think they are quiet because they haven't bedded in, or they need linking to an amp ?
Instead of the Audiobahn, I am also looking at fitting some Infinity 462.5CFP in the rear which are also plate speakers but with a slightly larger medium speaker. But they are 2 Ohm and the speakers coming out are 4 Ohm. So the real question is can I drop in these 2 Ohm speakers without worrying about over heating the head unit ?
(You can't get the 4 Ohm Infinity Plate speakers in the UK, unless someone knows different)
Cheers

You might want to introduce yourself and post a few pics or some people here might verbally abuse you...
As for the speakers...I think most of the problem with the stereos in these cars is the amp...someone else might be able to help you out with that...after you do the above...
Sorry, quick intro
I have a 2001 C4 with the GT3 aerokit in lapis blue on sport design 18s, I have retro fitted the cruise and OBC onto it. Had to do something over the winter.
It is my forth Porsche, my last was a 944 Turbo (951) I had for 10 years, others include a 944 Lux and 944 Cab during the same time. I have a soft spot for 944 especially they fantastic value for money appeal!
Other things of interest are a 1957 VW Split Screen Samba (fully restored with a modfied 914 engine, 1/4 mile in 16.75 secs) and various motorcycles, newest being a 2005 Fireblade.
Cheers

The speakers are pretty bad. My car had the standard system. I had a stereo shop replace the speakers. It improved the mids and highs very nicely, but bass remains awful. That problem is probably a combination of the amp and speaker size.
For what it is worth, the shop told me that they used resisters when installing the speakers to get the speakers to work with a MOST system.
Thanks for the reply, if the shop used resistors then I guess they were also fitting speakers with different ohms. hmmm sounds like a bit more investigation is needed in wiring in resistors.
Thanks again
