Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It was the wiring diagram that I want the full expanded print out.
Leading evidence: 'wiring diagram' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'wiring diagram' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Set back in 1988)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I certainly would have paid a reasonable price (paid over $400 for the 928 set back in 1988) ....

I selected the sections I thought I would use regularly and printed them out on 3-hole paper.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Where can I purchase the original factory shop manual, in the 993 days we used to be able to purchase the orignal ship manual from myporsche.com, but they no longer sell those anymore. I don't want the CD stuff, just the printed original manual.
How do I know if I have the newly updated coolant reservoir from looking at it?
TIA
I have the CD version. The files are PDF, so I import them to a word doc and then blow up the part I want to see. You can also blow them up in the manual program to look at on screen. Another possibility is to take the PDF file of the schematic you want to a Kinkos and have them print it up on larger paper.
I know I have sent schematics to a few members, usually wiring diagrams. To do so I believe I highlight the diagram, copied it, pasted it to a work doc, then sent it to them by email. I can try it if you want, PM me with what diagram you want and I will try to email it to you.
Using a nice, high speed printer .... I selected the sections I thought I would use regularly and printed them out on 3-hole paper. Even did the odd/even alternate page thing to use both sides of the paper. (I was bored at the office).
With the .pdf files, one can select specific pages, or page ranges to print as desired .... and even print in reverse order to keep it all collated. I ended up printing a good portion of the manuals, and arranging them in notebooks according to manual section .... just like the OEM books. It took a little effort, but the OEM manuals have passed $1000 in list price .... and, last I heard, had been backordered for months. Seems like Porsche doesn't wish to sell them at any price. I certainly would have paid a reasonable price (paid over $400 for the 928 set back in 1988) .... but that wasn't possible for the 996.
I was going to go to Kinkos to use their large format printer for the fold out electrical schematics .... but I found a set for my model year on ebay instead.
All in all .... a little ****, I guess. But I

having technical info easily available for my car. Its part of the pleasure I gain from owning and maintaining it.
Kim,
Thanks for the input. I too have printed some important pages out from the printer at work. It was the wiring diagram that I want the full expanded print out. I guess I will do the copy and paste method and run to Kinkos.
I too have the complete 993 shop manual set, which is really handy and I prefer it over the CDs anyday of the week. Of course when I am out....away from home... then the CDs does seem a little more high tech...
Thanks
P.S. how about the coolant reservoir? Anyone????
Robin,
If you're going to Kinko's .... no copy and paste will be necessary.
Just load up your CD manual on the Kinko's computer, select the wiring diagrams you desire, open it with Adobe Reader, and tell the bright young Kinko person that you need to route your printout to the large format printer.
